Sati
Sati
Semesterial group project
(Gabby Turetsky and Shai Gilis)
"Sati" is a mindfulness-supporting night lamp that helps disconnect
from the mobile, interfaces the breathing rate and illustrates them visually.
Late night phone use often involves stimulating activities that keep the brain engaged when it should relax for sleep, this leads to losing track of time and getting less sleep.

Quotes we received from surveys
and interviews:
"It's kind of a bad habit... I use that time before bed to continue watching another episode of the series to stay updated."
"I find myself more tired in the morning after using the phone at night."
"On the one hand, I wouldn't give up using the phone, but I would definitely like to control this addiction better."

The device requires the user to place the phone in it to charge in order for it to turn on, this action requires disconnection from the mobile and allows to listen to the environment.
With the help of a sensor, the lamp monitors the breathing rate and accordingly it projects lighting on the ceiling in dynamic forms to encourage the user to reach a relaxed breathing rate.
