The following pictures are ordered in development stages to the final piece at the bottom of the Gallery. During this project, I experimented with a variety of media to develop colour, tone and texture, Media used included pencil, charcoal, acrylic, watercolour, oil pastel pastel, clay. glue gun, wire, shaving foam and texture paste. Artists I looked at were Tony Bevan, Jacob Epstein, Grace Schlesier, Andre Zubenco, and Van Gough.
During the project I developed a fascination for the organic shapes and textures made by trees, dark, leaves and roots, which encouraged me to research and try different ways to portray these. I particularly enjoyed using the glue gun to create texture, and shaving foam and acrylic to produce some unusual colour variations.
This is my final piece for this study, I decided to do a wire sculpture to try and create the same patterns as the bark of the tree and the shape and texture.
