The course is currently divided into three main parts:
1. Introduction (weeks 1 to 4) ---> the concepts, the 'big' ideas -->
- looking at the latest peer reviewed research.
- intro to --> communications & social media presence
- board policies & procedures (strat. plan, success plan, committees, etc.) --> community --> etc.
- vision vs mission; Culture vs. climate; Strategic Planning; Funding
- assessing capacity for change; Creating a positive climate for change; Change leadership/management tools; Mobilizing Commitment (Fullan)
2.Application (weeks 5 to 11)--> 'scafolding' --> presentations & specific exercises/in class activities to ensure a thorough understanding of managing -->
- Budgeting & Finance Management (module 1)
- understanding and preparing financial reports
- financial codes & templates used

- Human Resources Management (module 2)
- staffing, teacher evaluation, HR issues, etc.
- collective bargaining, unions, etc.

3. Putting It All Together (weeks 11 to 13) -- > staff development project (final) 'synthesis' through actual design & construction staff development module -- by bringing together everything learned in the course.
