When I was taking pictures around campus, I had to consider how various elements of graphic design, such as lines, shapes, colors, and textures, can be incorporated into the composition of the image to create a visually appealing and well-balanced photograph.
Editing photos in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for the first time was an exciting and eye-opening experience. Through the use of various editing tools such as exposure, contrast, saturation, and color balance, one can experiment with different styles and techniques. With this program, it is possible to transform any photo into something even more interesting, improving the quality of the photographer's work.
Out of the 3 different image types, I noticed that PNG had the highest quality files while GIF had the lowest quality. The pictures seemed more detailed in PNG and fuzzier in the GIF files. PNG files were also more vibrant in color than the GIF files. I enjoyed getting to edit the photos in Lightroom and it was interesting getting to see how different file types make an image look.
Creating a gallery page and a detail page for a website taught me a lot about the importance of effective web design. A gallery page should be designed with a focus on displaying a collection of images in a visually appealing and easy-to-navigate format. A detail page provides users with a more detailed look at a specific image.
Creating a logo for a mockup in Illustrator was a valuable learning experience because it taught me about the importance of simplicity and the role of negative space in creating a memorable and effective logo. The use of typography and color is also critical in conveying the desired message and emotions associated with the brand. The logo should be scalable and easy to recognize even when it is displayed in different sizes and contexts.
