Dr. Kari M. Eddington - Director
Dr. Eddington is a Professor, Director of Clinical Training, and Licensed Clinical Psychologist in UNCG’s Psychology Department. She received her Ph.D. from Indiana University and completed a clinical internship at the University Of Wisconsin Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Eddington’s research has been supported by grant funding from NIMH and involves collaboration with other researchers both within and outside of UNCG. Her favorite leisure activities are hiking, playing tennis, exploring national parks, and spending time with family.
Emily Badillo-Winard - Graduate Student
Emily graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with degrees in Psychology and Sociology. She has a clinical interest in mindfulness, self-compassion, and acceptance-based interventions, and she is a certified yoga instructor. Emily studies stigma related to depression and the potential negative consequences of over-identification with mental health diagnoses. She enjoys hiking, sushi, and spending time with her family and two dogs, Koa and Lilo.
Jack Rubacka - Graduate StudentJack graduated from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh with his bachelor’s degree in psychology. His clinical interests are in suicidality and depression. More specifically, he is curious in the influence motivation, goal setting behavior, and decision making have on the relationship between depression and suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Jack enjoys being outside, riding bikes, and spending time with friends and family.
Haley Hedrick - Graduate StudentHaley graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and minor in medical sociology. She worked as a mixed-methods public health research analyst at Research Triangle Institute International, focusing health psychology and health communication science in the context of HIV, depression, opioids, stroke, cancer, and a number of other topics, for four years before pursuing graduate school. Haley is interested in studying depression, particularly in the context of comorbidity with other internalizing disorders and in her free time, enjoys yoga, being outdoors, and spending time with her loved ones, including her two dogs, Tofu and Tater.

Jordan completed his dissertation in 2023, which was focused on aspects of goal pursuit and depression. He completed his predoctoral internship at The Help Group in Oakland, CA and now has a Fellowship in autism at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Jaimie completed her dissertation in 2022, which was focused on emotion differentiation. She completed her predoctoral internship at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and has recently returned to Greensboro to start her own private practice.
Anahita Kalianivala completed her dissertation in 2019, which was focused on the role of self-compassion in emotional processing. She completed her predoctoral internship at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN and is now a Clinical Pain Psychologist at VA Sierra Nevada Healthcare System.
Kelly Harper successfully defended her dissertation in May, 2018. She completed her predoctoral internship at the VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She is currently at the National Center for PTSD, Behavioral Sciences Division, where she has been awarded a career development grant testing a brief intervention for minority stress for sexual minority Veterans.
Ariana Hoet received her Ph.D. from UNCG in August, 2017. She completed a postdoctoral internship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and is now a Pediatric Primary Care Psychologist and Clinical Assistant Professor at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Ohio.
Catherine Majestic received her Ph.D. from UNCG in December, 2016. She completed a postdoctoral internship at the Durham VA Medical Center and is now a Clinical Associate in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University. She is a member of the Duke Pain Prevention and Treatment Research Program and also provides psychotherapy services through the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program at DCI.
Tamara Foxworth received her Ph.D. from UNCG in December, 2014. She completed a postdoctoral internship at the UAB Clinical Psychology Training Consortium and pursued a growing passion in the domain of trauma with a PTSD postdoctoral fellowship at the Memphis VAMC. She is currently a practicing psychologist in Florida.
