Ed Birch

About me

Ed started out in the editorial world working in several children's/family publishers, before getting a taste of the corporate world at Yell.com. In 2002 he entered the pharma/medtech world when he joined Wellards which provided training solutions to pretty much everyone (the company grew from books and CD-roms, to websites and apps, with over a thousand companies who regularly renewed every year).

He stayed for a while when the company was bought out by Wilmington plc, then helped re-build the MIA credentialing business from scratch in 2017 at Medical Industry Ltd.

Five years on from working with hospitals and primarily medtech, he joined Life Science Access Academy (LSAA) as Operations Manager, progressing to Events and Operations Director. After two years - in late 2024 - he branched out and entered the freelance world, offering his expertise in e-learning to SMEs and solopreneurs.

He is currently enjoying working with the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS).

Ed's also found time to write and edit for B2B titles including the Contract Flooring Journal.

Outside of work you can find Ed enjoying spending time with his family, taking random photos, Southend United and a bit of samba band playing (in that order).
