OBC hit from Shawn Smart!

I am a New York National League baseball fan (not Brooklyn and NOT the Yankees).  I grew up with the Mets of the Gooden-Strawberry-Hernandez era and have stuck with the team through the chaos of the late 80s, the worst team money could buy age of the 90s, the collapses of the 2000s, and the wild ride to the 2015 World Series. Since we moved to SoCal in 2012, the local team is the Angels--so I have a soft spot for them as well. There are many great things about California, but storage space is not one of them. So I am working on finishing my 1963 and 1955 Topps sets, 1954 and 1953 color Bowman sets, upgrading my 1956, 1959, 1967, 1970, 1975, and 1977 Topps sets, dabbling in some prewar sets, and building complete NY Mets  and LA/California/Anaheim Angels Topps run from 1961/2 to present. And, of course, passing along everything that is upgraded to OBC members.

I have also jumped into trying to get as many cards in the 1972 Topps set autographed as I can.

If you don't know about Ray Ewry, look him up. An orphan who had polio as a child, he taught himself to walk again--and then won the most Olympic Gold Medals of anyone not named Phelps. Then he also designed the water supply for NYC.  If you want sports hero, he's it...
