Dear ECYFA Families,
We wanted to take a moment to provide some clarification in response to questions that have come up regarding this season, league expenses, and fundraising.
This year marked ECYFA’s transition from AYF to Pop Warner. With that transition has come a learning curve for all of us. As part of a larger organization, there are aspects of the season that are determined at the conference level, including game scheduling and locations. We have also experienced higher costs associated with operating within Pop Warner. As a board, we continue to learn, adjust, and advocate for the best experience possible for our athletes and families.
Registration fees help support the overall cost of operating ECYFA and providing a football and cheer season for our athletes. These costs include league and certification fees, insurance, fields and facilities, officials, uniforms and equipment, safety needs, and other expenses required to operate the program.
The raffle was a separate league-wide fundraiser intended to help offset the rising costs of the program and help us keep registration as affordable as possible for our families moving into next season. As shared on the raffle flyer, these funds support ECYFA as a whole and the continued operation of our program.
We recognize that this season has looked different from previous years, and we understand why families have questions. We appreciate the feedback we have received and want our families to know that the board is listening. Our Treasurer is currently completing the league’s regular month-end financial update. Once that process is complete, we will share updated financial information with our families.
Our focus remains on being responsible with league resources, learning from this first year with Pop Warner, and continuing to improve the experience for our athletes and families.
Most importantly, we are grateful for the time and commitment our players, coaches, team staff, volunteers, and families have given this season. Thank you for your patience and continued support as we navigate our first year with Pop Warner.
ECYFA Board
Every year, parents ask how is the money spent from registration fees and fundraising efforts.
Fiscal responsibility is paramount to the growth and success of our organization. ECYFA works diligently to provide a great experience to our players and value for our parents. Our organization is comprised solely of volunteers who dedicate their free time with zero financial compensation. All volunteers who register their children for the ECYFA program still adhere to the same requirement as other parents. They pay the full tuition cost of the program and any mandatory fundraising events. They do not receive any extra special entitlements or privileges.
The volunteers of the ECYFA community include board members, coaches, and support staff – and parents make up a big percentage of these volunteers. Our volunteers are vital to the success of the organization and we couldn’t do it without them!
The money collected through registrations, fundraising and donors are put to good use. Allocations include:
Uniforms
Field Allocation & Usage Costs
Equipment
Administrative Operating Expense
Dues, Fees & Insurance
Player Events
