The Hmong Student Association (HSA) at East Carolina University has been dedicating our efforts to provide a grant for rising college freshmen. This year we would like to award a committed and proactive student that has given time to their community while excelling in their studies. We hope that you may benefit and achieve greatness.
You must meet ALL of the requirements:
Be a North Carolina resident
Unweighted 2.7 GPA
Must be high school senior
Graduate at a certified high school (2022-2023)
Must attend a 2 or 4 year institution within North Carolina following the semester after graduation
Be of Hmong descent
This scholarship is non-renewable and a one-time entry.
$300 check
2 short essays (350-500 words each essay question)
1 letter of recommendation
Copy of transcript
Letter of acceptance at their designated institution.
Proof of residency (ex. permit, driver's license, mailing with name)

What is the greatest strength of the Hmong community/culture and explain. What is the weakest part in the Hmong community/culture and how would you change that part?
What steps have you taken to be successful and what steps are you going to take in college to stay successful?
Answer the two essay questions in a word document and email it to ecuhsa@gmail.com along with your letter of recommendation, a copy of your transcript, proof of residency, and acceptance letter.

Deadline: May 26th, 2023
After this deadline, applications and recommendation letters will no longer be accepted.
The recipient will be notified by June 16th, 2023.
The recipient chosen will be announced on social media @ECUHSA via Facebook & Instagram by June 16th, 2023.
