The Eversley Childs Sanitarium and General Hospital started its Residency Training Program on April 17, 2017.
The first Chairman of the department is Dr. Annabelle C. Fuentes and its Training Officer Dr. Josephus Ceasar S. Clauor.
The department was envisioned long before by the late Dr. Lope Ma. P. Carabaňa Jr.,
the medical center chief of the Sanitarium during that time.
To graduate competent, professional, God- fearing physicians specifically dedicated to the practice of family medicine and primary care.
Thru a 3- year residency training and continual medical education process, we aim to produce a family doctor capable to undertake a long term patient – centered, family – focused, comprehensive, continuing up-to-date practice in a manner expected of him/ her by the patient and the society, unsupervised and independently or within a team, in keeping with the health care needs of the community.
The training program aspires to develop in resident trainees the competencies of a good family medicine practitioner based on the Five-Star Physician Paradigm:
As a System-Oriented Clinician
As a Counselor
As a Life-long Learner
As an Educator
As a Manager / Social Advocate
