15 May 2023 The Klaipėda City Educational and Cultural Centre for Teachers hosted a dissemination event of the project "Social Simulation Solutions for Increasing the Understanding of Climate Change Impacts" (2021-1-LT01-KA220-SCH-000023657), where all participants were introduced to the project and the intellectual products it has developed. Depending on the audience, workshops and tools from the project's methodological tools "Environmental Interdisciplinary Curriculum" and "Examples of Integrated Lessons - Guidance for Teachers" were presented.
During the event, participants had the opportunity not only to get acquainted with the project and its results, but also to hear about the experience of "Sustainable Development Practices in Klaipėda Region Schools", presented by Reda Mikalauskaitė from Amicus Certus Public Enterprise. It was also interesting to meet the team of developers of the result "Interdisciplinary curriculum for environmental education" - Giedre Petrošienė, Silva Blažulioniene, Sandra Grinkoviene, Vilma Norvaišienė - and to see how interestingly educational activities with students on the topic of environmental protection can be organised and integrated.
The additional toolkits "Geo-Shifter Environment", "Climate Change and Emotions", "Around the World" are available for use here: 1. https://view.genial.ly/6461f08bd529fd001249f4bd/interactive-content-earth-day-escape-room 2. https://view.genial.ly/645b409b7eb78000113e79f9/presentation-klimato-kaita-ir-emocijos .
We thank the partners and especially the teachers in Klaipėda for joining the project activities and the team of the Klaipėda City Educational and Cultural Centre for Teachers for joining together to organise and run the events.
Inspired by the Erasmus+ projects "Social simulation solutions for awareness raising on climate change effects" (2021-1-LT01-KA220-SCH-000023657) and "Carbon Neutral Schools" (2022-1-LV01-KA220-SCH-0000874), the Klaipėda City Educational and Cultural Centre for Teachers 19th of May, 2023, has joined the mass beach clean-up campaign " Fish don't smoke. Don't smoke!" in Klaipėda. A record number of 400 participants from socially responsible companies, organisations and educational institutions in Klaipėda took part in the campaign. During the campaign was signed memorandum "The Most Sustainable City". The staff of the Klaipėda City Educational and Cultural Centre for Teachers and other institutions that contributed to the campaign had the opportunity to get an electronic certificate, which gives them the title of Sustainable Klaipėda Ambassador. The event was organised by "Klaipėda Water", the patrons - "Klaipėda City Municipality", the partners - " Klaipėda Beaches" and the organisers of the River Cleanup campaign in Lithuania " The Green Policy Institute".
The project team, during LTT2 in Lithuania presented integrated lessons for school children.
Let's meet with first example and try this activity in other countries and schools.
Project Ecostream is going to the end and partners finalizing all works and responsibilities. In June, 2023 partners had an online meetings with project coordinator from Klaipedos miesto pedagogu svietimo ir kulturos centras (Lithuania) and talked about all final steps and documentation. We are happy that we had a possibility to communicate, create and organize interesting and useful activities.
