Game theory is an integral part of modern economic analysis. The purpose of the course is to offer an introduction to the study of game theory which has found extensive applications in various fields of study. This course introduces the basic concepts of game theory in a way that allows students to use them in solving simple problems. The course will deal with the solution concepts for normal form and extensive form games along with a variety of economic applications.
Duration and Modules :
This is a 30+ hours certificate course on "An introduction to Game Theory" organized by the Department of Economics, BB College, Asansol. Lecture 10 hrs per week with one extra week in hand for additional/miss lectures and final evaluation) -

The five modules of the course are as follows,
a. Introduction to Game Theory -Basic Concepts and assumptions of Game Theory- 2 hours Completed on 20th May, 2022
b. Two Person Zero Sum Game – Pure startegy and Mixed Strategy-10 hours Completed on 27th May, 2022
c. Dominant strategies and Nash Equilibrium with various strategies – 10 hours Completed on 9th June,2022
d. Mixed Strategy Nash Equilibrium – 2 hours Completed on 10th June, 2022
e. Extensive Games and Subgame Perfect Nash equilibrium – 8 hours Completed on 24th June, 2022
EXAMINATIONS AND AWARDS
Course will be cover offline/online i.e., Bleanded mode and relevant material will be provided in the website. There will be 4 assignment based on class teaching and final exam will be mcq type consisting of 20 questions application base. Weightage of the class assignment is 1/3rd, for the final mcq exam and presentation it's 2/3rd.
The students securing 75% marks will be considered successful and certificate will be awarded accordingly.
