Economics India is the initiative of a 20-year-old economic enthusiast of India. The motivation behind this initiative is to make sure that the information asymmetry is reduced by keeping the A-Z of Economics in one place.
It all started when I noticed there is a lot more information available on streams, like engineering, MBA, medical, and accounting, but not as much about the vast discipline that economics is. A well-known economics topic, information asymmetry is an issue that individuals newly introduced to the field of economics experience (particularly in India). The breadth of economics, its ties to other professions, and the fact that it is both a science and an art are often unknown to many of us.
As an individual who has encountered these issues and also aspires to address the issue of ignorance on such a broad topic, I want to utilize my knowledge and experiences to make information and knowledge accessible to everyone across industries and students. Even though I am still a novice in this area, I think I can still be of help to others looking to carve out a path for themselves in this field, eventually widening the subject's scope in India. This is the reason I founded Economics India, a forum aimed at uniting, enlarging, and assisting like minds wherever guidance is needed.
This website is what I would have wanted to go through when I was starting in Econ. Information was scattered all around the web with paywall barriers, restrictions to literature, and much more which made it difficult to navigate with limited knowledge of the discipline.
Economics in India is not mainstreamed to pursue it as a discipline. For a long time, it was merely considered as a precursor to an MBA or a Finance degree with very few people giving importance to the discipline itself. This website aims to tackle that and hopes to guide individuals interested in economics in the right direction with access to the required resources and knowledge about the discipline.
The Resource Repository of Economics India (RREI) will contain a repository of books, courses, and research papers/articles about Economics and allied fields from reputed scholars.
The Articles section of the website will include my insights about various aspects of economics and how I managed to grow in this discipline.
This initiative is still in its budding stages and it will keep undergoing changes and new additions to ensure that the latest information on economics is included in it.
