Hello! I'm Chiara, an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Economics department at the Northwestern University. I was previously a LSE Fellow at the London School of Economics (LSE). In October 2023 I have completed my PhD in Environmental Economics at the LSE with a thesis titled "Essays in Behavioral Public Policy".
My research explores how individuals process information and the factors shaping their policy preferences, with a particular focus on drivers of pro-environmental and pro-social behaviors. I'm passionate about both the 'why' and 'how' of people's decisions and their implications for welfare and well-being.
Drawing from behavioral, environmental, and health economics, I use randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and surveys to generate evidence that informs effective policy design about pressing contemporary challenges. I also work on stated preferences within the OECD SWACHE group and with ANSES.
I love spending my time thinking about how ideas form, change and evolve, learning more about the ocean and food.
Whether you share my research interests or simply want to connect, I look forward to exchanging ideas with you!
