Wolves are top predators. But, they were seen as a threat to humans and tourists in Yellowstone National Park, so we intentionally REMOVED (i.e. hunted and killed) all of the wolves in 1926. This loss of biodiversity had devastating impacts on ecosystem stability. A population of wolves was re-introduced to the park in 1995.
