Ethan Cole is an experienced orchestral, chamber, and solo musician. He regularly performs with the SFA Symphony, as well as the Longview Symphony. Ethan has additionally been invited numerous times to sit in with the Texarkana Symphony on their concerts. At SFA, he also plays in chamber groups, performs solo, and has played in multiple masterclasses, being taught by Sergein Yap, Mikhail Galanagov, and Joel Pagan. He attended the 2024 National Symphony Orchestra - Summer Music Institute where he was the principal viola, leading his section and performing in masterclasses and chamber groups. As a soloist, Ethan has been a finalist for the SFA Concerto Competition his junior and senior year.
Ethan is earning his Bachelor's of Music Performance at Stephen F. Austin State University, under the tutelage of Melissa Nabb and Dr. Jennifer Dalmas. He also received prior instruction from Benjamin Chilton. At the 2024 NSO - Summer Music Institute he studied with Tsuna Sakamoto and received chamber coaching from NSO Principal Violist Daniel Foster. He plays on a 2002 Viola crafted by Gary Vessel. He has also been a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a musical organization dedicated to advancing music in America. Outside of music, Ethan likes to spend time gaming, watching movies, and being creative.
