The AUDITION date is usually the first Monday in October.
There are three choirs that can be auditioned for:
6th, 7th, & 8th grade Treble Choir
7th, 8th, & 9th grade JH Mixed Choir
(7th and 8th grade students may opt in to be considered for EITHER Treble Choir OR JH Mixed Choir, but will audition in the JH Mixed Choir rooms. Soprano and Alto singers who do not score high enough to participate in the JH Mixed Choir can be placed in the MS Treble Choir to balance the sound of that choir. No student will be placed in the Treble Choir who scored high enough to participate in the JH Mixed Choir. No student will be excluded from the Treble Choir in favor of a student who auditioned for the JH Mixed Choir.)
10th, 11th, & 12th grade HS Mixed Choir.
The FESTIVAL is usually held the first consecutive Monday and Tuesday in November.
This ECOCDA web site has all the information necessary to participate in the honor choirs. Email communication and Google Drive are tools often used as well, but please consult all info here first before emailing administrators.
Each student auditioning for an ECOCDA District Honor Choir must be recommended by his/her director, who must be a member of ECOCDA. Click HERE to fill out the required (combined) school membership and recording request form.
Each student wishing to audition for and perform in an ECOCDA District Honor Choir must be a member of his/her school choral program and be academically eligible to participate in this activity according to the rules of the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association.
