Hybrid solar systems function similarly to traditional grid-tie solar setups, except they utilize hybrid inverters and batteries to conserve energy for future use. With this capability of preserving energy, the majority of hybrid systems can also serve as a reserve power source when there's an outage - akin to that of a UPS system.
