The community of Šiauliai Medelynas Progymnasium actively participated in the Project activities: students aged 6-14, teachers, local community leaders, parents, social partners. Target groups of educators (administration, teachers, educational support specialists) took part in the LTT visits. Activities were carried out in five areas: Environment and: *Art; *Resilience; *Sport; *Climate Change; *Science.
A Project Task Force was created in the Primary School, responsible for the quality, planning, implementation, administration and publicity of the activities.
In the planning of the activities, it was important to involve students with educational, social and health difficulties and to create an eco-sustainable learning environment. Activities took place in spaces conducive to health and well-being (parks, botanical/zoological/school sensory gardens; science centres; spaces adapted to different needs). To achieve the project's objectives, we worked with social partners (nature reserves, STEAM centres, recycling companies, ethnographic centres, etc.).

Activities
C1 LTT / Northern Ireland
Based on our experience, we have created educational spaces to calm children down; we have developed and applied tools to reinforce positive behaviour, promote motivation and self-confidence in learning, and develop self-control. Social pedagogues, speech and language therapists and special educators have developed support materials which are available to teachers and teaching assistants in Microsoft Office Teams. The Social-Emotional Skills Programme for pupils was started.
C4 LTT / Bulgaria
Environment and Arts activities implemented online due to Covid-19. The results of the activities were shared in the digital environments of the schools and the Project. After the pandemic, the results of the activities were presented by teams from all partner countries during the LTT in Bulgaria.
In the Progymnasium, activities took place throughout the year, focusing on the seasonality of natural materials, e.g. autumn-3D works with tree leaves, pine cones, berries, cereals, etc.; winter: decorations with frozen water, food mandalas; spring: production of plant-based eco-paints; summer: capturing the environment in photos. Family members of the pupils also took part in the activities. Some of the activities were organised in the environments of social partners (Šiauliai Young Naturalists' Centre; Botanical Garden of Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy).
C3 LTT / Romania
We presented the results of the activities at an Erasmus+ Days event in Romania, attended by all partners and teachers and pupils from other Romanian schools.
Medelyno Progimnazija is a member of the Lithuanian Active Schools Network. Even before the start of the Project, a lot of attention was paid to strengthening physical health. As part of the Project activities, pupils start their lessons with a five-minute exercise. Indoor and outdoor spaces have been created for active leisure (interactive floors; labyrinths and other active games in the corridors); a "Physical Activity Alphabet" has been created and used with the pupils, where each letter corresponds to a physical exercise.
C6 LTT / Türkiye
Partner countries have integrated science/STEAM activities into the education process. In organising activities in Medelynas progymnasium, we worked purposefully with social partners: the Šiauliai Technical Creativity Centre, Smart School, Robotics School, Šiauliai State College, Matematika forte (Kaunas Fortress VII).
Irresponsible lifestyles and attitudes towards nature, excessive consumerism and its consequences make us not only think, but also act in a targeted way to develop the foundations of an ecological culture. To this end, the project "Eco-Warriors Small-Steps" has been running for the second year in Medelynas Progymnasium with the help of partners from Northern Ireland, Türkiye, Romania and Bulgaria.
From 8-12 May 2023, the project participants met for the fourth time. The Medelynas Progymnasium team - Head of Education Orinta Šalkuvienė, Deputy Head of Education Violeta Butkienė, Education Support Specialists Toma Čalutkaitė-Tao and Justina Pundzienė, Geography Teacher Erika Valienė - brought together educators and school administrators from the partner countries to work on the issues of the environment and climate change, recycling, the environment and the arts, well-being, resilience and inclusion of pupils of different abilities.
By familiarising themselves with the environment of Medelynas Progymnasium, the activities of the teachers, observing the educational process, the participants had the opportunity to adopt best practices in terms of the organisation of education, interdisciplinary integration, to identify the problems and challenges of the countries, and to discover new ways of fostering ecological culture.
A visit to Toksika, a hazardous waste management company in Šiauliai district. The project participants were impressed not only by the advanced technologies, the scope of work and the safety of hazardous waste disposal, but also by the awareness of the country's population and businesses and the infrastructure they have created.
The guests were also introduced to the country's natural authenticity and protected areas. In the Kamani State Reserve, they had the opportunity to see rare plants and animals, to understand the peculiarities of their lifestyle, and to observe the extraordinary landscape, which aroused both amazement and admiration.
The Curonian Spit has become perhaps the most impressive and unique landscape in Lithuania. The guests were amazed by the processes of formation and change of the peninsula, the emerging ecological problems and their solutions. Admiring the views, the project participants travelled from the Smiltyne ferry to the Parnidis dune, visiting a seaside unusual to their eyes. Participating in the educational activities of the Mizgiriri Amber Museum, they got acquainted with the history of the Baltic gold - amber, its types, possibilities of its use, and the problems of its conservation.
The final highlight of the visit was the unique museum of rural life in Kleboniškės, Radviliškis district. The guests of the project opened the doors of typical rural buildings of the 19th and 20th centuries, listened to stories about the way of life of the people of that time, and touched everyday household utensils. The most emotional and social experience was the educational session "Ethnographic Lithuanian Folk Games", during which even the language barrier disappeared.
The project guests were amazed by the ingenuity and creativity of ordinary Lithuanian villagers and their ability to convey children's education through various play activities, thus giving them the opportunity to not only hear, see and experience.
Continuing the theme of the contact between man and nature, the participants of the project had the opportunity to try their hand at writing with a goose feather at Burbiškis Manor. During the education, the history of writing, the main types of writing and ancient writing instruments were recalled.
The Eco-Warriors Small-Steps visit to Lithuania went by in a flash. However, the guests took away good emotions, a stronger intercultural bond, a different view of our land, unique nature and cherished traditions. And for us, the organisers of the project activities, it gives us pride to realise that we are a small country, but one that has done a lot of work in raising environmental awareness.
