Local Info

The conference will be held on the Northern partition of the NC State Main Campus, in the city of Raleigh. Conference presentations will be held in Room 201 of the Park Shops building and the Student Session in SAS Hall. A campus map is available here and also below.

The conference has some funding available to support participants’ travel. Funding will be first provided to presenting participants. The organizers ask that conference participants submit receipts for reimbursement after they have completed their travel.

If you’re arriving by airplane, Raleigh-Durham airport (RDU) is about ½ hour drive from the university. From RDU, taxi/Uber/Lyft rides in one direction should cost $50-$90; please allow for possible traffic delays, as there is some roadwork going. If you’re traveling by train, there is an Amtrak station in downtown Raleigh, only about 5 minutes’ drive from the university. If you’re traveling by automobile, parking is generally available at local hotels and also in on-campus lots during weekends.

The city of Raleigh is vibrant and safe to visit, with plenty of nice dining and hotel choices in the area between NC State and the downtown. For convenient proximity to the conference, the organizers recommend conference goers to reserve a room at the Aloft Hotel, which is within walking distance of the conference,
