I. Important Notice
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using Echoverse (hereinafter referred to as "this application" or "we"). By registering, logging in, or using this application, you indicate that you have read, understood, and agreed to all the contents of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use this application.
II. Who We Are
Echoverse is a life-chapter companion application. It helps you recognize the life stage you are currently walking through, read Paths left by travelers who have been there before, turn feelings into a small real-world next step along The Trail, look back at what happened, and optionally Relay useful experience to people who come after you. You can also keep Notes and manage your journey in your Traveler profile.
This Privacy Policy aims to explain to you how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information.
III. Information We Collect
(I) Information You Voluntarily Provide
· Email Address: Used for registration, login, account retrieval, and important notifications. (Email registration required)
* Password: Used for account authentication, encrypted and stored on the server, never in plaintext. (Email registration required)
* Username (Display Name): Used to display your traveler identity within the app. (Required for registration)
* Handle: Used to uniquely identify your traveler account. (Optional)
* Bio: Displayed in your Traveler profile. (Optional)
* Profile Picture: Displayed in your Traveler profile. (Optional)
* Life Chapter and Moment Choices: The life chapter you select, the current moment within that chapter, and any custom chapter or moment text you submit. (Available when using core features)
* Path and Note Content: Text and structured records you create along The Trail, which may include what you faced, what you tried, what happened later, words you prepared to say to a real relationship, tags, and related reflections. (Available when using core features)
* Relay Choices: Whether you mark a note or Path as private or as "Relayed". Depending on product stage, Relay may operate as a local visibility marker and/or as content shared with other travelers when cross-user Relay is enabled.
* Saved Paths: Paths from other travelers that you choose to save for later reading.
* Path Reports: Reports you submit about another traveler's Path for moderation review.
* Information provided through Apple Sign-in: Includes Apple Identity Token; may include name and email address if you authorize it. (Provided when signing in with Apple)
(II) Automatically Collected Information
* User ID: Used to associate your account, journey data, and interaction history.
* Auth Token: Used to maintain your login status.
* APNs Device Token: Used to send you notifications (such as look-back reminders or Relay-related updates when available) after you authorize it.
* Chapter Journey Progress Data: Used to record your active life chapter, current moment, Trail station progress (locate, paths ahead, needs, try, say it, look back, relay), action commitments, and related state.
* Interaction History: Includes saved Paths, Relay-related feedback events (when available), Path reports, etc.
* Membership and Purchase Records: Membership tier, subscription status and expiry where applicable, Star Shards balance, and records needed to restore or reconcile in-app purchases. Apple processes the payment itself; we receive purchase confirmation / entitlement information necessary to unlock features.
* App Usage Log: Used for troubleshooting, service stability, and security protection; does not include cross-app tracking for advertising profiling.
(III) Device Permission Information
This app will only access the following device capabilities after you explicitly authorize it:
* Photo Library: Used to select a profile picture. You can revoke this permission at any time in your iOS settings.
* Camera: Used only if you choose to take a new profile picture. You can revoke this permission at any time in your iOS settings.
* Microphone: Not required for current core Path / Note features. If a future version lets you attach a short voice note, we will only use it for that stated purpose. You can revoke this permission at any time in your iOS settings.
* Notifications: Used to push service-related notifications after you authorize them. You can revoke this permission at any time in your iOS settings.
We will not access the above permissions without your authorization. We will also not request access to your precise location, contacts, health data, or other sensitive permissions unrelated to the core functions of this application.
(IV) Information We Do Not Collect
As of now, this application:
* Does not sell your personal information;
* Does not use your data for targeted advertising unrelated to the services of this application.
If new data collection methods or third-party services are introduced in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your consent if necessary.
IV. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only for the following legitimate purposes:
1. To provide core services, including account registration and login, life-chapter selection, The Trail guidance, Paths browsing, Notes, Relay-related features, and Traveler profile display;
2. To help you organize and revisit your own journey, including active chapters, attempts, look-backs, and saved Paths;
3. To enable optional experience sharing when you choose to Relay content, so later travelers may benefit from what you leave behind (subject to current product capabilities and visibility settings);
4. To manage memberships, Star Shards, feature entitlements, purchase restoration, and Path report handling;
5. To ensure account and service security, including identity verification and prevention of fraud and abuse;
6. To send you service-related push notifications after you authorize it;
7. To conduct anonymized or aggregated statistical analysis to optimize product functionality and stability;
8. To fulfill obligations stipulated by laws and regulations and respond to legitimate requests made in accordance with the law.
V. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We will not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
1. Service Providers: To share necessary data with trusted third parties (such as cloud hosting, database services) who help us operate our services, provided they are bound by confidentiality obligations;
2. Other Users (as you actively publish): Profile information you make visible, and Paths or notes you mark for Relay / public visibility when that capability is available, may be seen by other Echoverse travelers;
3. Apple: When you sign in with Apple or make an in-app purchase, Apple processes authentication and payment under Apple's terms and privacy policy;
4. Legal Requirements: To comply with laws and regulations, court orders, or legitimate requests from governments;
5. Security Protection: To protect the rights, property, and safety of us, our users, or the public;
6. Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction, and we will notify you in advance.

VI. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including but not limited to:
· Encrypting data transmission via HTTPS;
· Encrypting password storage;
· Protecting API access using Bearer Tokens;
· Restricting employee and contractor access to personal data.
While we strive to protect your information, internet transmission and electronic storage cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a security incident, we will promptly notify affected users in accordance with the law.
VII. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. In the event of significant changes, we will notify you through in-app notifications, emails, or official website announcements. The updated policy will take effect from the date of publication. Your continued use of this application after the changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
