ECHOES FROM A GREAT DISTANCE started as a solo project in Spring 2015, and until 2020 the band has been characterized by a number of changes in the line-up.
Since 2020, the band’s main artistic core consists of guitarist and singer Carlo Polo, main composer of the songs, and bassist Quantum Prana, an academic and session musician coming from experiences in a variety of genres (e.g., with the Opeth tribute band Damnation, Odalisque, Masquerade, Subspace Radio and Celesti Alliance).
The young talent Marko Sangi joined the band in 2024 as live drummer, and is going to be featured in the future recordings with his progressive drumming.

CARLO POLO is an Italian artist who moved to Finland during Summer 2013, after graduating with a BSc in Language Studies at the Verona University and obtaining a National Diploma in Popular Music at the CSM Centro Studi Musicali Verona.
In Finland, he continued his music studies and obtained a degree in Popular Music at the Suomen Raamattuopisto. A professional music teacher and session musician, he has funded EFAGD and his own ambient solo project, called Sounds From The Marshes.
QUANTUM PRANA is an Italian artist who moved to Finland in 2005 to pursue his PhD studies in theoretical particle Cosmology with Prof. Kari Enqvist. Currently Assistant Professor in the Energy efficiency of buildings, he is affiliated with two Northern European Universities.
Approaching in 2024 30 years of music activity as guitarist, bassist, songwriter and guitar teacher, he has performed in bands and sessions from rock and metal to fusion, ambient, industrial, and electronic music.
MARKO SANGI is a young Finnish drummer, heavily influenced by progressive rock and metal. His style is in constant evolution and takes inspiration also from other genres such as pop and fusion, with an energetic attitude.
