An is a descendent of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa and mother of three. She is Echo Maker's Founder and Senior Organizational Research and Development Consultant. She works with organizations to Indigenize management, development, research, evaluation, and data practices through internal and external partnerships.
An is a member of the core research team and served as the university coordinator for The TRUTH Project. Through the examination of treaties, legislation, maps, archived communications, and ledgers, her research tells the story of how the University of Minnesota's founding regents developed a system of land speculation and wealth transfer from Indigenous nations through the institution that continues to this day.
As a Ph.D. student in American Studies her work continues to shapeshift the confluence of relationality, data management, and research and development ethics. An also holds an Associate’s degree from Century College, bachelors degrees in Sociology and Women's Studies from Hamline University, and a Master of Public Policy degree from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. An's dissertation focuses on healing in the aftermath of irreparable harm through actionable steps that can be taken towards justice. She is passionate about designing plans which help systems become more equitable, sustainable, and accessible for the people whom institutions continue to marginalize.
Outside of work An enjoys cherished time with loved ones, writing poetry, beading, hiking, and photographing trees at night.
