EXERCISE COORDINATION SUBGROUP INTRODUCTION
Following the implementation of OREEP, the FEMA US&R Advisory Organization recognized a need to provide additional support for all US&R teams in the development and conduct of their exercises. As a result, the Exercise Coordination Group (ECG) Subgroup was formed. The ECG is comprised of individuals in the US&R system with varying levels of exercise experience up to and inclusive of the designation of MEP (Master Exercise Practitioner).
The primary focus of the ECG is to provide varying levels of assistance to all FEMA US&R teams and the US&R Incident Support Teams in the development, planning, conducting, evaluation, improvement planning, and the guidelines identified in their three-year OREEP Training and Exercise Plan. This 3-year training and exercise plan is a requirement of the system for each Task Force to produce. During Task Force Administrative Readiness Evaluations, each Task Force must produce this plan to the evaluators.
RESOURCE GUIDE INTRODUCTION
Exercises are critical to National US&R Response System response preparedness. Exercises strengthen system resources skills and abilities to ensure deployment capability when deployed.
To do this, there is a need for specialized training locations that replicate stressful environments intended to mirror real incident conditions allowing for realistic training elements and exercise scenarios. This FEMA US&R Training Site Resource Guide is an important tool to assist FEMA US&R Training Managers with identifying Training Sites for conducting Full-Scale Exercises.
This Guide provides a detailed information on location, training props, and contact information.
