Leadership and Excellence: The Best of Two Leaders

Last September 04, 2023, during the recognition of awardees of TIP Manila held at the anniversary hall, two young stalwarts of the ECE Department of the same institution, received awards that would forever be etched in the hearts of all ECE TIPians. These two outstanding, one-of-a-kind alumni proved that the ECE Department of TIP Manila produces not only topnotch electronics engineers but also topnotch leaders. Former ECE Department Student Council President Aila Lyn Cordero and ECE Department Student Council Treasurer John Cedrick Totto receive the Leadership Excellence Award and the Service Excellence Award. These awards not only serve as an emblem exemplifying the excellence of ECE students, but it also serves as an inspiration to all aspiring student leaders out there. 

All throughout the school year, these two led the student body of the ECE Department in an exemplary manner–accomplishing heights such as inspiring new and young students and setting up glamorous events. All these are done while juggling the difficulties and challenges of being an engineering student and being a student leader. However, the skills and substance these two young leaders possess are no coincidence. It is a product of hard work, grit, and being surrounded by the right peers and mentors. The two may have graduated, but their legacy will be passed on to future generation of student leaders.
