Travel
Travel from out of province:
By air: The closest airport is in Deer Lake (45 minutes away by car). Airlines serving Deer Lake at the time of the ECCC are Air Canada and PAL Airlines (unfortunately it's too early for the summer season when there are more options).
A taxi from the airport to Corner Brook has a fixed price of $85. To reserve a taxi in advance, contact Star Taxi (709-634-4343). The taxi desk is in the baggage claim area and is easy to find.
There is also a shared shuttle service ($35 per person), but this now only drops off at select locations (hotels). To reach Grenfell Campus, the shuttle driver can arrange for a separate taxi to meet you at the drop-off point (an extra $12 or so). So for two or more people travelling together, a taxi is the best option.
Alternatively, several car rental companies have desks at the airport (including Avis, Budget, Enterprise and Hertz).
By ferry: Corner Brook is a 2.5-hour drive from the Marine Atlantic ferry terminal in Port aux Basques, NL, with service (usually) twice a day from North Sydney, NS. The sailing typically takes around 7 hours (depending on the weather).
If travelling without a car, the DRL bus meets the overnight sailing.
Travel from St. John's:
By air: Fly to Deer Lake (with PAL Airlines).
By car: Corner Brook is a 7-hour drive from St. John's.
By bus: The DRL bus operates daily between St. John's and Corner Brook.
