eCaug is currently in talks with representatives from the California State Library and from Ex Libris Content Development to create provider-managed, e-resource collections for U.S. Federal and California Government Documents in the Alma Community Zone or CDI.
In progress:
Moving forward with CSU-based group. Information and meeting notes can be found in this Google Drive
Contact jill.strykowski@sjsu.edu with questions.
Factors to consider:
Federal Government Documents Collection (U.S. G.P.O)
Can someone from be designated as a contact for Ex Libris, to be set up as a content provider for a community zone collection?
This person(s) would be responsible for FTPing the marc files of FDLP e-resources to Ex Libris on a regular basis, and for trouble shooting and correcting errors in the metadata that are brought to Ex Libris by Support.
See more information on acting as a Content Provider sending e-resource metadata to Ex Libris.
California Government Documents Collection (C.S.L.)
Can someone from the California State Library be designated as a content provider contact for Ex Libris?
This person(s) would be responsible for FTPing the marc records or kbart files for CalDoc e-resources to Ex Libris on a regular basis, and for trouble shooting and correcting errors in the metadata that are brought to Ex Libris Support.
See more information on acting as a Content Provider sending e-resource metadata to Ex Libris.
How do we collect all the catalog records for electronic California Government Documents (e-CalDocs) in one place? It should be vendor agnostic enough to take advantage of all the work done by catalogers in various libraries.
Options:
Create a community-managed Community Zone collection in Alma for these e-resources that users can add to and edit at will.
Could we help each other track which California e-resources have been cataloged and which ones need to be cataloged?
Past steps:
