Q: I haven't gotten paid yet. What should I do?

A: Review this year's bi-weekly pay schedule on the Payroll website or D2L to get a sense of when check dates are and what dates are being paid out on each check date. If this is your first check or you haven't set up direct deposit yet, contact the Payroll Office at (517-355-5010 or payroll@ctlr.msu.edu) about picking up a check. Once you have, see this page about setting up direct deposit.

Q: What should I do if my pay rate or hours are not correct?

A: One of the best ways to check and see if information regarding your pay would to check on EBS. You would want to go into your Earning Statements to check and see your hourly rate and how many hours you worked for that pay period. Another great way to check your hours would be to log in to UltraTime to view them.

If you've reviewed the information in EBS and/or UltraTime and see that some of your hours are missing, please contact our Payroll/Scheduling manager (check D2L for updated contact information); if you notice that your pay rate is wrong, please contact our HR Coordinator (again, check D2L for updated contact information).

Q: Is this site the same as UltraTime?

A: NO. EBS is the website where all employees are able to view their Pay Stubs and W-2s, set-up/change direct deposit information, request a PayCard, as well as view their hours worked. While you can also view your hours worked in UltraTime, UltraTime is more of a scheduling tool and will not include information about your pay rate or taxes, for example.

Q: What happens if I change my phone number and can no longer log in?

A: Please call MSU IT, at (517) 432-6200; you must verify your identity with your NetID, date of birth, and/or A/ZPID (they ask for this due to the sensitivity/confidentiality of information stored in EBS). You will want to be by a computer when you call them!

Q: What is a PayCard?

A: The MSU PayCard is an alternative to payroll Direct Deposit, the PayCard is a convenient and secure method of receiving your pay and expense reimbursements deposited directly to a reloadable VISA Debit Card. Who issues the MSU PayCard? The PayCard is issued by MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU). Is the PayCard a credit card? No. The PayCard is a re-loadable Visa Debit Card. It is not a line of credit.
