EBC Trek | Everest Base Camp Trek, 14 Days Itinerary

Everest Base Camp Trek

Follow in the steps of heroes as we embark on a 14-day expedition to the mountain that has come to represent all that is grand and dangerous about the quest of adventure: Everest's base camp. At every turn, you'll be surrounded by stunning mountain beauty and the deep Buddhist culture that inspired the journey. Spend your time in Sherpa villages sleeping in simple teahouses and learning about the local culture. On this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, you'll get to savor tea with locals, gain insight into their spiritual way of life, and uncover the wide variety of flora and fauna that can be found at different altitudes around the mountain range. Celebrating your success and gazing in awe at the world's tallest peak, Mount Everest (29,035 feet), is a fitting way to celebrate your achievement. Get in touch with us immediately for assistance in planning a trip to Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 17,688 feet.

You'll begin your trip in Kathmandu and then take a quick flight to Lukla. The trail for the famous hike begins in the south at Lukla and winds its way north to Namche Bazaar. To adjust to the greater altitude, we will spend a day here. After then, it splits off to the northeast toward Pheriche and Dingboche. There will be a day of rest at Dingboche once we get there. The trail goes on from Dingboche all the way up to Lobuche. To the east sits Everest Base Camp, while to the west is the Kala Patthar lookout.

The journey might also diverge early on at Namche Bazaar in two directions, one of which heads toward Gyoko Ri. The left side is taken to reach the Base Camp. The hamlet of Jiri, which is just a short bus ride from Kathmandu, is another popular starting point for trekkers. However, because Jiri is so much further from Lukla, starting your walk from there will add extra days to your journey. The hike up to EBC's base camp is quite easy going, but the journey back down is much more challenging. It will take us a total of 13 days to complete the voyage, some of which will be spent acclimating to our surroundings.

The Trek: What to Expect

It's a steep uphill slog. While the trek to Everest Base Camp is not particularly risky, it does need a high level of physical condition and proper preparation. The terrain, duration, daily distance, number of days spent at high altitude, and difficulty of exit in case of emergency all contribute to the difficulties of the walk. Even while there aren't many challenging parts to the walk, it will definitely be a test of your stamina.

High altitude increases the risk of acute mountain sickness (AMS), although this can be mitigated with careful preparation, including plenty of water, rest, and a schedule that allows for gradual ascent over several days. Our trek leaders are experienced mountaineers who are well-versed in the effects of altitude sickness. They'll be able to see the symptoms of AMS early on and take preventative action. All of our Trek Leaders are trained in Wilderness First Aid and are prepared to respond quickly and effectively in an emergency.
