This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use the EatGen mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App").

1. SCOPE

• Free and paid (Pro) versions of the App

When you use EatGen's scanning features, you may upload:

Important:

• EatGen does not perform facial recognition

• EatGen does not collect biometric identifiers

• Images are used only for AI-based food analysis

• Images are stored securely and are not shared with third parties for advertising

2.4 Automatically Collected Data

We automatically collect:

• Device type, model, and operating system

• App version and performance data

• Anonymous device identifiers (for session management)

• Usage activity (screens viewed, features used)

• Country, language, and time zone

• Crash reports and diagnostics

2.5 Device Session Data

To enforce account security and prevent unauthorized sharing, we collect:

• A unique device identifier per session

• Device name/platform information

• Session activity timestamps

This data is used to enforce a 2-device limit per account. If more than 2 devices are active simultaneously, additional devices will be temporarily blocked.

3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

• Calculate personalized health scores and recommendations

• Enforce free and premium usage limits

• Manage subscriptions and entitlements

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. AI & HEALTH DISCLAIMER

EatGen provides informational and educational insights only.

EatGen is NOT:

• A medical device

• A healthcare provider

• A licensed nutritionist or dietitian

AI-generated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical, health, or dietary decisions. EatGen is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

5. SUBSCRIPTIONS & PAYMENTS

• Payments are processed exclusively through Apple In-App Purchases

• EatGen does not store or access your payment or credit card details

• Subscription status is verified through our subscription management partner

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase

• Refunds and cancellations are governed by Apple's policies

• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions

6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS

We work with trusted third-party services to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements:

• Row-Level Security (RLS) ensures users can only access their own data

• Premium status changes require server-side verification

8. DATA RETENTION

• We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the App or comply with legal obligations

• Food scan history is retained for your benefit and can be deleted upon account deletion

• Anonymous or aggregated data may be retained longer for analytics and improvement purposes

9. ACCOUNT DELETION & DATA REMOVAL

You have the right to delete your EatGen account at any time.

How to delete your account:

• Go to Settings → Delete Account within the App

After deletion:

• Your account and profile will be permanently removed

• All personal data, food scans, health analysis, and onboarding data will be deleted

• Uploaded images will be removed from our storage

• Some data may be retained temporarily for legal, security, or compliance purposes

Important:

• Account deletion does not cancel active subscriptions. You must cancel your subscription separately through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.

• Deleted accounts cannot be recovered.

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

EatGen is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email below and we will promptly delete it.

If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have parental or guardian consent to use EatGen.

11. APP TRACKING & ADVERTISING

• EatGen does not track you across other apps or websites

• EatGen does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA)

• EatGen does not display third-party advertisements

• No data is shared for advertising or cross-app tracking purposes

12. INTERNATIONAL USERS

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using EatGen, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in these jurisdictions, which may have different data protection laws.

13. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you

• Request correction of inaccurate data

• Request deletion of your data (see Section 9)
