Apply with a clean cloth, sponge, or soft bristle brush. DO NOT SOAK article to be cleaned. Apply and work the cleaner into the surface, wipe off excess with a clean cloth. On nappy items such as suede, buck, or rough out, brush up nap when dry. For shoes, use a shoe tree or stuff with tissue paper for the best results.

Easy Cleaner features a collection of utility tools for compatible mobile devices. However, some know-how is necessary regarding when certain features should be used and how to use them. For example, the battery saver function is not ideal when doing tasks that require a lot of the system's resources. The app has a simple user interface, making the individual functions easy to use.

There is a lot of information out there about how easy and fantastic this is, and not a lot of contrary opinions. Most of the information that I could find discouraging the use of oven cleaner as a furniture stripper was related to environmental concerns. Specifically the fact that people are encouraged to just hose this off of the furniture in their driveway. Concerns are raised about where does that go, and what are you doing to the environment for the sake of furniture? Now in my opinion, if you are using this in your oven it either ends up down your drain or in the landfill anyway. So if you have environmental concerns about using oven cleaner, this is not a product you should be using in your home at all, even for its intended purpose, without further research into that. But that did not answer my questions about its safety as a furniture stripper.

What really raised the red flag for me was the point that oven cleaners are not designed to be used on porous surfaces, like wood. Ovens are non-porous surfaces - once the cleaner has done its job, you wash it out & you can be sure it has all been removed because it cannot soak into your oven.

I decided not to use oven cleaner to strip wood at all, given that it is not designed for or tested on porous surfaces. Even if you wash it all off, can you be sure that all the chemical has been removed from deep inside the pores of the wood? I do intend on sealing this piece, but I know a lot of people following this trend leave the piece unfinished, unsealed, raw - which can lead to potential off gassing of the oven cleaner chemicals in your home over time. Is that something you really want to risk happening in the air you breathe, around your kids?

People like using the Easy Off oven cleaner as a stripping method because it is easy, and because of the nice rustic, raw finish it gives the furniture. The trendy bleached, rustic look happens because of the combination of the oven cleaner chemicals & the amount of water used to wash it off. Regular stripper will not bleach the wood like oven cleaner, but that can be duplicated safely with other methods. Raising the grain happens because of the amount of water used when hosing the product off with water, which can also be duplicated. In this case I will definitely choose more work up front to ensure long-term safety. I would encourage you to do your own research & come to your own conclusions if you had wanted to try this too. There are many alternative products out there that have been tested & formulated for this exact purpose. For myself, I will choose to use furniture stripping products like this.

I got the tiny clay pots at the dollar store, and they were perfect for my little flower arrangements! I filled each one with sand, approximately 3/4 of the way full, and then I wound up two black pipe cleaners into a spiral to fit on top to cover the sand. Then I poked each flower and leaf through the black spiral and into the sand.

A taste of the solutions we provide.

Many cleaners are made of up to 90% water. Start with a spray bottle (you can reuse a spray bottle from your previous cleaner as long as you rinse it and the spray hose out really well). Or you can invest in a glass spray bottle (avoid buying plastic bottles). I use a 32-ounce plastic spray bottle that I still have from years ago but I will be switching to a 16-ounce glass spray bottle.

For years and years, we battled trying to get the exterior of our windows clean. They just never looked crystal clear. A filmy residue and often chalky streaks would remain once the windows dried. We tried a variety of window cleaners from homemade to store bought concoctions, as well as using newspaper instead of paper towels with not much success.

They shared a simple recipe for what they have found to work. They swore by it. We had already tried just using a simple combination of vinegar and water, but they learned a trick from a commercial window cleaner: add a little dish detergent to the vinegar/water mixture. Really? That simple? It was new to us, and it sounded much too easy.

I have seen formulas like this one & the one I use is 1 cup distilled water, 1/4 cup white vinegar & 2-3 drops dishwashing liquid. I use it on mirrors & glass, inside & out. I do use it on car windows but am careful when I spray. It also makes a great stainless steel cleaner, which I use on my bathroom & kitchen fixtures. It keeps them sparkling new!

We tell people all the time that they do not need to purchase the most expensive and supposedly industry leading window cleaner out there on the market. All you need to properly and effectively clean your windows is probably already under your kitchen sink! Vinegar, water, dish soap, DONE. Windows will look squeaky clean

I used the window cleaner mix; and used a squeegee. However, I totally did not see until re reading the directions, that I should have rinsed the windows. I only did the outside windows. Today I noticed they all looked so nice and clean. However, do I still need to rinse them? Thanks! ?

A good homemade cleaner is worth its weight in gold, and a simple shower and tub cleaner definitely is! The pleasant part of bathrooms is selecting storage and decorating with pretty accessories. The unpleasant part is cleaning them, and my distaste for cleaning showers is right up there with cleaning toilets, but since it would be more unpleasant to have a filthy bathroom, I guess we should all still clean them! ?

So when I saw an idea on Pinterest for a homemade simple shower and tub cleaner, I had to try it! (I always like to link back to the original source, but it only went to Google.)

Hey Margo,

I love this. I am going to have to mix up a bottle today, when I make my window cleaner. Thank you so much for sharing with Wednesdays Adorned From Above Link Party last week. This weeks Link Party is opened at -toner-and-wednesdays-adorned.html

Hope to see you there. It is open until Sunday night.

There is no original source because I was the one who created the pin . I saw the recipie for the shower cleaner on Pinterest and thought to use it in a kitchen scrub brush for easy access in the shower. I am thrilled that you blogged about it and am just having a blast seeing how many people are actually using it!

This may not work for all people trying to remove soap scum (calcium stearate and magnesium stearate). The residue on the shower wall or door could also be scale or a combination of both. A very good product that shows laboratory results is BioWorx.us shower cleaner. I love this product, the soap scum melts off like butter.

Highly effective solvent cleaner for the cleaning and preparation of moulds prior to application of new release agent. Use to remove old release agents (including chemical release agents and wax), dirt, grease and other contaminants from a mould's surface, without damaging the mould, prior to coating with Easy-Lease or similar release agents.

I am very excited when I find a new recipe for a household cleaner! I love the scent o lemon and I trust baking soda and vinegar absolutely! I am sure that the cleaner is awesome. I am having a cleaning weekend this week and I am excited to try some new recipes! Thank you for sharing!

This is exactly what I need! Some easy to make natural cleaning spray for every day use! I hate dust and I go around spraying vinegar for cleaning the dust but the smell is not so nice. Thanks for sharing! ?

I always love Short Cuts. Cleaning is one of those aspects of my life where I am tied in with making it speedy, simple, and easy. There are such a large number of cleaners available, yet they can be so toxic and harmful. I am trying to maintain a distance from them when conceivable, and choose Natural Cleaning Methods. Thanks for the spray recipe.

Mixing baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and vinegar (acetic acid) causes a chemical reaction that produces a salt (sodium acetate) and water, as well as carbon dioxide gas. So it will not clean it will create what is essentially salt water and that is it. Separately they are great cleaners but they do not work together ff782bc1db
