Program Vision
Build a team off of respect and trust.
Strive for greatness in all parts cheer and everyday life.
Have goals as individuals and as a team.
Be here because you want to be here, not because you have to be here.
Eligibility and Expectations
Academically, cheerleaders must be passing all classes in order to participate at games. Grade checks will be performed every week. If a cheerleader is failing a class at the time of the grade check, the following will take place:
We will meet with the cheerleader individually to discuss the grade.
The cheerleader will be given a two-week timeline to raise the grade to passing. If after two weeks, the grade is still a failing grade, the cheerleader will sit out games and practices until the grade is passing.
If a cheerleader is sat due to grades, he/she will be required to attend practices and games. During practices, he/she will be required to work on school work. School always comes first.
If a cheerleader is out due to injury, he/she will still be required to attend practices and games unless a doctor's note is provided.
Each cheerleader must meet the "individual Eligibility Rules" of the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA).
If one is involved in a club, organization, or outside job, cheerleading practice and any related cheerleading events come first before these outside activities. We understand that there are many things available for you to do in high school and we are willing to work with the adult in charge of that activity to make things fair if you have to miss. You MUST put in the same amount of effort into both activities!
Every cheerleader must be open to trying new things such as cheers/chants, dances, and stunting.
Student / Cheerleaders who do not go to school for 3 out of the 5 periods of the school day will not be able to practice.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY - get plenty of food, water, and sleep.
Conduct
East Noble High School cheerleaders have earned the reputation of not only great cheerleaders but also excellent young ladies in and outside of cheerleading. In order to uphold that reputation, it is important that they follow these guidelines:
Follow all school and athletic department rules
Respect the coaches, administration, teachers, and all other staff members
Refrain from foul language, always
Maintain a positive attitude in everything you do
Treat all members of the cheerleading squad with kindness and support and stick up for each other
Think carefully about what you post on social media (i.e., texts, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) Nothing negative should be posted
Failure to adhere to the guidelines above can result in a temporary or permanent suspension from any squad
Members of the East Noble High School cheerleading squad should refrain from dying their hair any unnatural colors during each season (colors of the rainbow)
Members of the East Noble High School cheerleading squad should refrain from getting acrylic nails long or bright distracting colors
Tryouts
Cheerleading tryouts will take place at East Noble High School in the aux gym or on the track. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU ARE AT ALL DATES. (We understand that things happen or conflict. Please reach out to any coach. Communication is key!)
Physicals MUST be turned in to Athletic Department prior to tryouts.
Candidates should wear solid-colored shorts (no spandex shorts or leggings!) and a t-shirt. Hair should be pulled back and out of your face with a bow if in possession of one. Candidates should have a water bottle. Candidates should not have any kind of jewelry on.
The coaches will determine the size of the squads according to the number trying out and level of talent.
Candidates will be judged on a group cheer, a group sideline, jumps, motion technique, expression, enthusiasm, and tumbling if applicable.
Candidates will be notified of the results via email no later than Friday the week of tryouts.
An email will be sent out for a MANDATORY parent meeting.
Practice
Cheerleaders must arrive to practice on time, dressed, and ready for a meaningful practice. That does not mean walking in the door at the time practice starts.
Each minute late to practice will be owed back to the coach in the form of conditioning.
All cheerleaders must have their physical form turned in BEFORE tryouts. Failure to have your physical turned in, will result in having to sit until it is turned in.
Practice will be 2-3 times a week. Cheerleaders must bring a water bottle to each practice, failure to bring a water bottle will result in conditioning.
The schedule for practices will be shared via SportsYou, ParentSquare, and our East Noble Cheerleading Website.
Attendance at practices is HUGE. While we understand the want to go on many vacations throughout the summer, it takes away from our team. We know that stunting is the extra fun perk of our "job", but it is hard to perfect when people are absent from practice. Please, PLEASE, PLEASE take your commitment to this team seriously. We want to be the best that we can be, an the only way to achieve that is for everyone to show up, work hard, encourage one another and desire to be a thriving member of the team.
Coaches do reserve the right to withhold stunting for those not in attendance at practices. Stunting is a privilege, not a right.
Respect each other at practice. All issues individuals are going through need to be left at the door before practices and games.
Game/Event
Fall Varsity Cheerleaders are expected to cheer at all home and away Varsity football games. Fall JV Cheerleaders are expected to cheer at all home Varsity AND home JV games.
Winter Varsity Cheerleaders are expected to cheer at all home Varsity Girls and Boys games and specifically picked away games. Winter JV Cheerleaders are expected to cheer at all home JV Girls and Boys games and specifically picked away games. This is subject to change.
All cheerleaders must ride to and from events with the team unless approved by the activities director PRIOR to the game.
All cheerleaders are expected to know all the material by the time school starts; therefore any cheerleader who does not know the material will be benched until they know the material. (Mistakes happen and that is 100% okay, however, constantly showing that you do not know the material shows you do not care enough.)
Appearance: Correct uniform and ready to go! (Time will not be given during warm up time.)
Water/Sports drinks only during games & practices.
No water bottles on the track or behind you on the basketball court.
No jewelry of any kind will be worn during practices or games.
During basketball season: Varsity is expected to sit as a team in our seated area and support JV by saying the chants and cheers with them and vice versa.
Uniforms
Cheer shoes are ONLY to be worn outdoors during football season
Do your best to keep them clean and white (not dingy). Coaches have the right to ask you to buy new shoes if necessary.
Wash uniform appropriately and air dry only!
Do NOT wash uniforms with anything else. Uniform only.
Coaches will collect uniforms after each football game. We will wash them and return them to you at the following practice.
Financial Responsibility
Each cheerleader will be responsible for all costs associated with being a member of the ENHS cheerleading team. The amounts below are ESTIMATED COSTS for each item.
Uniform Rental - $50, this goes toward any uniform replacement due to age or damage
Blue Spandex (must have either blue Nike Pros or Blue Varsity Brand) - $25
Blue Midriff (JV and Varsity) - $25
Black Midriff (Varsity Only) - $25
Cheer Shoes - $103
Glitter Bows - $30
White Nike Crew Socks - $15
Warm Up Outfit - $140
Practice Shirts - $30-$45 for 3 shirts
Sponsor shirts are a huge opportunity to cut down the cost of your financial needs for the year. The added benefit of sponsor shirts is it allows a team member to contribute a portion of excess funds back to the cheerleading program. Not only does it give money back to the program, it allows for each individual to pay for their uniform, etc. More information about that will come after tryouts.
Cheerleaders have the option to own their uniform! If you choose not to purchase the uniform, an invoice will be sent for the full cost of the uniform if it is not turned in by the date set.
Ways Parents Can Be Involved

Safety
We care about the safety of the Cheerleaders, with that being said, we want to allow stunting. Coaches will evaluate the level of ability and strength amongst the squad. Each individual will be placed into stunt groups accordingly.
During warmups, stunting will be evaluated and if they do not hit consecutively, the team will not stunt during the game.
Cheerleaders will not practice any stunts/tumbling without a Coach present.
Injury
If a cheerleader is injured, they must let coaches know. The injured individual will e asked to see the Athletic Trainer to understand their injury and how to recover. Once the individual is cleared, they will be allowed to stunt again.
If injury is serious, it needs to be on file to be excused. The individual is expected to sit on the sidelines with Coaches for all practices and games. Practices and Games missed due to an undocumented/excused injury will result in a penalty.
Please respect the decision of the Coaches to keep everyone safe.
