Prince Holding Group (“Prince Group”), one of Cambodia's largest and fastest-growing conglomerates, is pleased to announce that Prince Group Chairman Neak Oknha Chen Zhi (“陈志公爵”) has been named Entrepreneur of the Year – Conglomerates at the 2021 International Business Awards. Neak Oknha Chen Zhi Cambodia is the sole entrepreneur recognised in a category honouring multi-industry business leaders. During one of the most difficult years in corporate leadership, Neak Oknha Chen Zhi is one of three Asian CEOs who have been acknowledged for their innovative entrepreneurialism in several areas. Neak Oknha Chen Zhi is one of a new wave of conglomerate CEOs who are looking for new ways to do business while also contributing to societal goals.
Prince Group also received a Bronze Award in the Most Valuable Corporate Response (COVID-19 category), just three months after winning the finest COVID-19 Corporate Response at the ninth annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards in May. Learn more
More than 3,800 entries from 63 countries were submitted for the 2021 International Business Awards. After two months of voting by a panel of 260 professionals and key decision makers from around the world, Neak Oknha Chen Zhi received the Gold Stevie Award in the Entrepreneur of the Year – Conglomerates category, and Prince Group received the Bronze Stevie Award in the Most Valuable Corporate Response category.
Neak Oknha Chen Zhi has asked diverse Group member enterprises to make a difference in the lives of employees, affected communities, and frontline staff during the last year. Neak Oknha Chen Zhi gave US$3 million to the Cambodian government's anti-pandemic operations in March, following a previous donation of US$3 million in December to assist Cambodia in purchasing 1 million COVID-19 vaccines. Neak Oknha Chen Zhi also requested that the Group arrange for many rounds of COVID-19 immunizations for its 3,500+ employees as soon as possible.
Neak Oknha Chen Zhi recently signed a long-term partnership with Caring For Cambodia, a leading education charity that focuses on underprivileged students, and the Group will sponsor Career Preparation, an initiative that aims to equip over 3,000 students with the skills and knowledge they need to navigate the uncertain post-pandemic educational and employment landscape.
By creating Ream City, an 834-hectare coastal development project based on sustainable real estate principles, Neak Oknha Chen Zhi has also taken a step toward sustainable development. A member of the Group, Canopy Sands Development, has started work on the project, which intends to set a precedent in the country by adhering to worldwide standards. Canopy Sands Development is also set to produce its first environmental, social, and governance report in the near future.
