Who are we?

The JEDIs are a group of faculty who are motivated and determined to create a campus-wide climate that best supports Eastern Connecticut State University’s BIPOC students.

JEDI = Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion

We organized following a Diversity and Social Justice Committee book talk on Ibram X. Kendi’s book How To Be An Antiracist in Spring 2021.  We have been inspired by the efforts of the NAACP student group at Eastern, following the murder of George Floyd and other Black Americans by police.

We are not a formal committee, but a fluid group of faculty from across the university who come together to share ideas and support each other’s JEDI work.  All full-time and part-time faculty are welcome to join.
