I've been wanting to make my phone more Dishonored themed, but I think it would be incomplete without the appropriate text tone. I'm looking for the guard alert sound that's just a short piano noise. If anyone has a link to just that, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I want to change my alert sound on Ubuntu 20.04 from the default to Glass. I selected Glass in the Settings, I rebooted my computer and ran the command sudo service gdm restart (taken from here), but to no avail. The alert sound is still at its default value. I'm testing it by pressing backspace in a newly opened terminal. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this?

I had the same problem after changing my sound from default to say drip and then installed: unity-tweak-tool...even without opening the teak tool, it seems to have fixed it for me. (looking at the terminal, there are no obvious errors or anything, but happy now it's fixed). update: well haven't rebooted yet...hitting tab in terminal is fixed, haven't rebooted yet but got an email with the old notification sound...hopefully once rebooted it's changed.

No matter what I do the annoying calendar alert sound will not change on my iPhone13 mini. The software is up to date (iOS16.6) I've tried shutting the phone off and restarting so many times I've lost count but nothing I try works. This is been going on since I purchased the phone over 2 years ago. When is Apple going to fix this issue?

So.... I got a new iPhone 15 Pro last month and was hopeful that would eliminate the problem with the "stuck" alert tone but it was still there. I called Apple once more and after the junior rep went through the obvious stuff, he escalated to a higher-up who didn't acknowledge the known bug but he did advise me to do a system reset. I was hesitant, but desperate to fix the annoying problem. IT WORKED!!! Problem solved. The rep thinks the bug migrated over when I restored the backup from my old phone to my new one. The reset didn't delete my data but it did wipe out all my settings and remembered passwords which has been a major pain. Still, it was worth getting the problem fixed. Hope that helps.

I was looking for another stronger sounds to reminder me about meetings, but custom sounds DO NOT WORK...for now only the tri-tone works, while setting most other sounds will make the phone silent on calendar screen popup alerts.

Without knowing what you have tried previously to change the notification sound for calendar events try this: On your iPhone, go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Calendar Alerts and select an Alert Tone from the menu. This should change the tone when you close out. Let us know if this doesn't work.

1- I go to Sounds & Haptics, Select Calendar Alerts then chose sound from the Alert Tones menu. I then hit back to return to the main menu. It does not matter which tone I select, and I have tried almost all of them, the Calendar alert tone does not change and remains "Trill." I'm not sure why the phone selected "Trill" as trill is a ringtone and not an alert tone.

As of upgrading to Gnome 43, my system sound for (what I believe is) the alert sound, e.g. hitting backspace/tab in terminal plays the old "water drop" sound that used to be part of Gnome Shell. I have tried to change this with no success. So far, my attempts include:

- changing the "Alert Sound" option in the Sound settings menu

- changing the Sound option under Tweaks -> Appearance, selecting both Default and Custom

- editing the settings in dconf editor under /org/gnome/desktop/sound/theme-name

- editing config files in .local/share/sounds/__custom

I would like some help from you regarding a problem I am trying to resolve. I am implementing the alert system to monitor grafana, but I would need to include the alert with a sound effect. While searching the forum I came across the following post:

Below is the flow model that I created in Node-RED, I configured the HTML (post) and read file nodes (Path from folder to the sound file). Remembering that Node-red is on top of a Linux server (Centos7) and Grafana is on top of another server, they are not on the same server.

Remember that the above flow should run on a PC that has a soundcard installed or is hooked up to a speaker, etc. The PC where Grafana is running will NOT play the sound. The PC where the above flow resides is the one that will generate the audio alert.

Hello! I know grafana doesnt support sound alerts, I saw an script here in the forum, but doesnt work for me in the 9 lastest version of grafana.

Does any here knows any 3rd party app to make it work?

We have a tv with our panels but not always are looking at the screen, so we need a simple sound for the alerts so we can check what its happening.

Hope anyone can helpme.

thanks for any info!

Hey neighbors! The Ring app is the best place to start for notification preferences. Our Help Center article can help with getting notifications for motion events. While the Ring app will send the notification as intended, and the sound, your mobile device sound settings or features will also control the volume or the playing of this. For instance, silent mode or connected bluetooth devices can alter the audio experience.

If you have an iPhone and try and look on what setting you have it on for example when I looked at mine I had mine on personal ( there are focus, work, and school ) settings. Then I tapped on the personal and added the ring app to the apps that I gave permission to get notifications from. From there I now received notification and sound from motion at my door

When motion detection is activated you get a beeping notification coming from the camera. Is there a way to change that beep sound to something else? Also any way of raising the volume on the camera? My brother mentioned he cannot hear me too well when I speak through my phone. Also it states up to 5 cameras but does this mean if I want to add a 6th camera I have to start a secondary account??

On my Forerunner 45S I have Alert Tones set to "During Activity" in System > Sounds. Still, every time I get the Move Alert warning the device beeps. What can I do to disable the sound? I already tried Reset Settings to no avail. Any help greatly appreciated.

I am at a loss here. I've tried Delete All from the System Reset menu, and the (secondary) Master Reset described here -US/?faq=wxPmdnWsev1xGRUf58oDC8. I tried upgrading to 3.82 beta firmware, then downgrading to 3.80 again. Still, every single time I get a move alert or clear the move bar the watch makes its beeping noise. If I set Alert Tones to off, then it stays quiet, as expected, which indicates to me that this is indeed the correct setting for controlling the move alert notification. Am I misinterpreting what "During Activity" means? Just to be clear, I have Activity Tracking turned on but I haven't started a workout on the watch. I could just leave Alert Tones at off and forget about the whole thing but I want to have the sound on when I'm working out.

Well, thank you for the reply but that doesn't help me since I don't want to disable the move alert. I want to disable the move alert SOUND while keeping the sound turned on for other alerts during workout.

I often get distracted when trying to run large epochs or sections of code. Inevitably I forget that I was even training a model or get distracted for hours by my daughter. So I put together a quick sound alert that plays on the computer running Jupyter that I thought others might find helpful.

You may be interested to know you can easily create a jupyter extension that responds to start and end cell events. I set mine up to log the start time; elapsed time; and play a sound if execution time is more than 30 seconds.

Since updating to El Capitan, every time I change anything in the KM Editor (e.g., deleting or adding a character in an AppleScript text script) I immediately hear an alert sound. There must be some way to turn this off, but I haven't been able to find out how. I tried turning off notifications for KM Editor and Engine in the Notifications preference panel, but that didn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

So I went into KM preferences and unchecked the Sync Macros check box. Then re-checked it and selected the existing sync file which was in my Dropbox folder. No more errors in the Editor log and no alert sounds when I edit a macro. Weird!

I just had the same error. Constant alert sounds whenever I clicked in the editor and had no idea what was causing it until I came to this thread. Then I looked in the editor log and indeed found the error:

I tested this on remote desktop connection with sound (as not in office) and all was good. So this should allow you to play any sound using this technique shown above, for when you want an alert sound to play.

I hope this is what you are after to get the desired results.

But how do I also make it beep or play a sound when it displays? I know it's usually bad practice but the person I'm designing for has bad eyesight and needs an audio cue. The person is using Chrome on a laptop. It would be even better if anyone knew of a setting in Chrome that could do this for me. e24fc04721
