Asim Misra recited poems written in rural dialects, especially from the Purulia and Bankura regions. We understood how detailed the language is and how it changes even between localities as little as 10 km apart. We also understood how these languages need to be pronounced. 

We remembered the language martyrs who dedicated their lives for "Mayer Bhasa-Bangla Bhasa." We remembered the lives those were lost and discussed how the changing socio economic conditions are currently changing our BANGLA BHASA.

Dr. Bhattacharya is a water-transport researcher. He delivered a talk about the kinds of boats that originated in Bengal and how they evolved and adapted over time. A variety of factors - from economic and sociological factors, to geography and weather - influence the development of waterways and the boats plying them. The architecture, science, and emotion behind the types of boats were vividly discussed. Folk song plays a prominent part in the culture of boating. He discussed the origin and the emotion of those folk songs. He also discussed how the boats of Bengal are related to boats of other countries. 

Folk musicologist Smt. Chandra Mukhopadhyay has collected about 2600 songs of rural women and published two monographs about them. In a wide ranging and engaging talk, she srew on this vast archive and illustrated the ways in which songs are interwoven into the everyday fabric of women's labor, from economic activity to the often overlooked and unrecognized labor of the household. She argued that while women's music is often collapsed into the category of work-songs, we miss much of the richness and nuance of women's lives, struggles, and expression if we do not approach them as a distinctive sub-genre.

A day filled with melodies that touched hearts and brought smiles to faces. We celebrated world music day at thea Apex, Nagerbazar after Covid pandemic. We perfromed folk song, Jamming, and heard Hiralal Chakraborty. It Was an exciting program.

It was an enchanting evening when folk music told stories that resonated deep within the soul. Japon katha is our annual program. This is our tale. This program was a reflection of our work throughout the year. In this program, we invited Dr. Swapan Thakur, an eminent researcher of "RAR BANGA FOLK CULTURE".  He discussed his work. We felicitated Mr. Basudeb Ghosh, songwriter and artist of the famous "BOLAN GAN". We had opportunity to spent time with Mr. Naren Das, an "Jhumur Silpi" from Purulia. This program was organised at Thea Apex , Nager Bazar. In this program, we invited artists of "CHANG GAN", a pattern of folk song near JHARGRAM. They came here and performed it, and we were all overwhelmed. We had one satisfaction: at least we could preserve this almost extinct pattern of folk song in digital form. We felicitated Smt. Chandra Mukhopadhyay and Mr. Dipankar Das, who are very familiar with their work with the people of the root. We heard a bit about their work and experience, and they suggested cultivating ourselves to work with the people of the root. Along with that, we had our nice performance with a very nice audience.
