jericho (Earth-7)

Joseph Wilson, better known as Jericho, is a metahuman empath and telepath whose life was shaped by the legacy of his father, the infamous mercenary Deathstroke. Gifted with the ability to perceive the emotions, intentions, and hidden truths within others long before his powers fully manifested, Joseph spent much of his life searching for belonging and purpose. Believing he could use his abilities to help people, he joined the Titans and found the closest thing he had ever known to a family. However, his unique perception eventually exposed the countless secrets hidden among his teammates and revealed a conspiracy that would ultimately contribute to the downfall of the Titans themselves. 

Biography

Early Life

Joseph Wilson was born into what appeared to be a loving and stable family. From an early age, however, he demonstrated unusual empathic sensitivities. Even before developing his later telepathic and possession abilities, Joseph could instinctively perceive the emotional states and true intentions of those around him. While his mother and brother saw him as a kind and thoughtful child, his father, Slade Wilson, often reacted differently. Though Slade appeared caring on the surface, Joseph sensed something deeply disturbing hidden beneath the man's exterior, a darkness that frightened him long before he understood its source.

For years the Wilson family lived peacefully together, eventually settling in Da Nang. That stability came to an abrupt end when Slade Wilson's past returned to haunt him. Their home was invaded by a criminal known as Jackal, a man seeking revenge against the mercenary Deathstroke for events that had occurred years earlier. What began as a hostage situation quickly escalated into a confrontation between Jackal and Slade.

During the conflict, Jackal abandoned any interest in survival and focused entirely on vengeance. In an act designed to mirror one of Deathstroke's own greatest personal tragedies, he seized Joseph and brought a blade to his throat. The traumatic attack permanently changed Joseph's life. Though he survived physically, the experience robbed him of his ability to speak. While recovering in the hospital, his mother informed him that his father would not be returning to visit him, creating a painful emotional distance between Joseph and Slade that would never fully heal.

Despite everything that had happened, Joseph refused to allow his tragedy to define him. Seeking a new purpose and a chance to build a better future, he entered a hero competition to become a member of the Titans. He believed that by using his growing metahuman abilities to help others, he could transform the pain of his past into something meaningful.

Joining the Titans proved to be one of the happiest periods of Joseph's life. Surrounded by young heroes who seemed confident, compassionate, and supportive, he finally felt as though he belonged somewhere. For the first time since his childhood, he had friends, allies, and a genuine sense of family.

Yet even during these happy moments, Joseph could not completely silence his instincts. His empathic abilities constantly exposed the emotional undercurrents surrounding him, and he became increasingly aware that many of his teammates were hiding secrets. He deliberately avoided invading their minds, wanting to respect their privacy, but certain truths became impossible to ignore.

Everything changed when Joseph unexpectedly glimpsed a memory buried within Nightwing's mind. He saw the image of Deathstroke not Slade Wilson the father, but Deathstroke the monster. The memory was so disturbing and traumatic that it immediately sent chills through him. Suddenly, years of unanswered questions began to make sense. The tension among the Titans, the lies, the hidden agendas, and the unresolved fears all seemed connected to something much larger than any of them had realized.

Driven by a need to understand the truth, Joseph carefully analyzed what he sensed from each member of the team. Piece by piece, the puzzle came together. He discovered that nearly every Titan was hiding something significant, and that a larger conspiracy appeared to be manipulating the team from the shadows.
