Early Life

Orion was born on Apokolips as the only fertile son of Darkseid, making him the sole heir capable of continuing the tyrant's bloodline. As part of the ancient peace agreement between Apokolips and New Genesis, he was exchanged at birth and raised by Highfather, while Darkseid received Highfather's own son in return.

From the moment Orion was old enough to understand, he knew the truth about his origins. He was taught that his lineage did not define him and that goodness, justice, and compassion were choices rather than inheritances. Even so, an ancient and violent force constantly stirred within him, threatening to consume his personality with uncontrollable rage and brutality.

This power became known as the Astro-Force, a primal energy unique to Orion. Unlike Darkseid's mastery of the Omega Effect as a weapon of conquest, Orion's greatest struggle has always been learning to understand and restrain his own power instead of surrendering to it. Every day became a battle against the violent instincts inherited from his father.

Highfather also revealed to Orion the ancient prophecies surrounding his destiny. They foretold that he would one day leave New Genesis forever and become the instrument of Darkseid's downfall. Yet despite knowing the prophecy, Highfather repeatedly urged Orion not to kill his father, believing such an act would betray everything he had been raised to become. Rather than accepting destiny blindly, Orion chose to define his own future, eventually earning the title of the God of Rebellion—a symbol of someone who rejects the path imposed upon him in order to forge his own legacy.

To aid him in mastering his tremendous power, Orion came to wield the Astro-Cycle, a vehicle capable of absorbing the Astro-Force and converting it into kinetic energy. The machine allows him to travel across light-years in minutes and pass through the dimensional barrier separating the Fourth World from the Physical Universe.

The god of rebellion

After leaving New Genesis, Orion never returned, knowing that the isolation separating the Fourth World from the rest of existence made his mission one that had to be carried out alone. Crossing into the Physical Universe aboard the Astro-Cycle, he joined the Revolutionary Elite Brigade to Eradicate Law Supremacy, an interstellar coalition of vigilantes dedicated to overthrowing empires, tyrants, and oppressive regimes throughout the galaxy. Above all else, the organization shared Orion's ultimate objective: ending the reign of Apokolips.

Today, Orion's life is defined by a single purpose—to stop Darkseid before he uncovers the Anti-Life Equation. Unlike the tyrant's previous campaigns of conquest, this pursuit represents something far more terrifying. Orion understands that the Equation would allow Darkseid to transcend the very concepts of control and domination, becoming something greater than a king, dictator, or god—an existence so fundamental that it would reshape reality itself. Preventing that future has become Orion's highest calling, even as he continues to fight the darkness within himself, determined that he will never become the father he was born to destroy.
