Early Life

Jayna was born on Korugar alongside her twin brother, Zan. Although the planet had once been celebrated throughout the Andromeda Galaxy as the "Green Planet" because of its immense flora and fauna, she grew up knowing only the industrialized civilization that had replaced it. By her lifetime, Korugar's forests had disappeared beneath sprawling cities, monuments, and skyscrapers built through the exploitation of the planet's rich natural resources.

According to the history preserved by her father, Korugar's transformation began generations earlier when Sinestro, formerly the Green Lantern assigned to the sector, rose to power as Supreme Commander. Though initially chosen by popular acclaim, he willingly betrayed both his people and the ideals of the Green Lantern Corps by exploiting Korugar's resources for profit. His reign eventually ended when the Guardians of the Universe stripped him of his rank and power, exiling him to a solitary prison at the edge of the cosmos. Even so, many within the space corps continued to admire the ideology he left behind.

Jayna and Zan were too young during the Great Crisis to remember those events themselves, but they were raised on the stories of the world Korugar had lost. Their parents, both renowned biologists, dedicated themselves to preserving that forgotten history by creating a ring-like device capable of cataloging the planet's entire ecosystem before its destruction.

Through this technology, Jayna gained the ability to transform into thousands of extinct lifeforms that once inhabited Korugar. From the flying Merthagotis, capable of weaving nearly impenetrable webs, to the Solar-Aramineas, whose shells produced explosive pearls, each transformation represents another fragment of her world's erased natural history.

Inspired by a planet she had never truly known, Jayna joined her brother in opposing Korugar's government, refusing to accept the continued exploitation of its people and the profitable alliances maintained with Apokolips.

the wonder sister

Today, Jayna continues fighting alongside Zan as one of the Wonder Twins. While her brother preserves one of Korugar's last remaining natural substances through his Morphyllium physiology, Jayna safeguards the memory of the countless creatures that vanished as her homeworld was transformed into an imperial industrial power.

The twins have recently found powerful allies in the R.E.B.E.L.S., an intergalactic organization dedicated to resisting not only Apokolips but every empire that sustains itself through oppression and conquest. Fighting beside them, Jayna carries the living history of Korugar into every battle, determined to ensure that the planet's forgotten life—and the ideals it once represented—are never erased from the galaxy again.
