Early Life

Pietro Maximoff was born to Romani parents who sought a new beginning in a small Serbian village, hoping to escape a life marked by prejudice. However, discrimination followed them, creating an environment of constant tension and hostility.

As Pietro entered his teenage years, his mutant abilities began to manifest, intensifying the fear and hatred of those around him. The situation escalated into violence when a neighbor set fire to the Maximoff home, resulting in the death of his mother and forcing Pietro to flee. From that moment on, he lived in isolation, carrying both grief and anger.

During this time, Pietro was haunted by visions of a mysterious girl who appeared in his dreams, a presence that reflected something deeply missing in his life. His father later revealed that this figure was his twin sister, Wanda, believed to be dead.

Pietro was eventually discovered by Magneto’s Acolytes during an expedition in Latveria. There, his mind was manipulated by Mastermind, who reactivated a latent psychic connection between Pietro and Wanda, now known as the Scarlet Witch. Through this connection, Pietro became aware of her existence and her power.

He joined the Acolytes, drawn by both Magneto’s ideology and the possibility of understanding his origins. Over time, Magneto himself approached Pietro, revealing the truth about their relationship, that he was his father. This revelation further entangled Pietro in Magneto’s world, forcing him to confront a legacy built on conflict and extremism.

His involvement with Magneto’s militia eventually led to his imprisonment, where he spent a year paying for his actions. His life changed once again when he was reunited with Wanda Maximoff, who fought for his freedom. Through her influence and her ties to the Avengers, his sentence was reduced, allowing him to leave prison under the condition of service.

Pietro accepted a new role as part of X-Factor, becoming an agent within the government’s mutant subdivision, marking a shift from radical allegiance to controlled responsibility.
