HULKLING (Earth-7)

Hulkling (Teddy Altman) is the child of two empires, born of Kree hero Captain Mar-Vell and Skrull princess Anelle. His existence embodies the fragile balance between the warring alien races. Hidden on Earth for safety, Teddy grew up unaware of his cosmic lineage until the truth of his origins was revealed. Torn between worlds, he became a symbol of hope and unity, straddling the line between Kree, Skrull, and human heritage.

Biography

Origin

During the height of the Kree-Skrull War, Captain Mar-Vell, a Kree warrior known for his compassion, was captured by the Skrull emperor Dorrek VII. His imprisonment led to an unexpected connection with the emperor’s daughter, Princess Anelle, who pitied Mar-Vell’s ideals and aided him in leading a silent rebellion. Their bond grew beyond politics, and together they conceived a child — Dorrek-Vell.

When the Skrull Empire learned of this union, Mar-Vell spirited Anelle away to Earth to protect her and their child. On this distant planet, Anelle gave birth to their son. However, before the boy could grow up safely, tragedy struck. The Kree Empire tracked them down, captured the child, and executed Anelle, leaving the boy to be used as leverage against Mar-Vell.

The Stand

The boy’s existence played a pivotal role in the Kree-Skrull conflict. The Kree tried to use him as a pawn to force Mar-Vell’s compliance. Meanwhile, the war escalated further until a human intervention inadvertently worsened the crisis, contributing to the eventual collapse of the fusion engine sustaining the conflict. These events culminated in Mar-Vell’s death, the rise of Captain Vers-Us, and the consolidation of the Skrull Empire under High Councilor Veranke through a coup d’état.

Ted Altman

The child was discovered by S.W.O.R.D., Earth’s defense agency against extraterrestrial threats. Considered too dangerous because they believed that his strange phisiology were the result of exposure to gamma radiation, he was placed in isolation and testing chambers, where his abilities were studied. Officially, he was registered under the codename Hulkling.

The child — who would later adopt the human name Teddy Altman — grew up on Earth, unaware of his cosmic heritage.
