Biography 

Origin

M'Gann's story is deeply intertwined with the devastating history of Martian society. The planet Mars was ravaged by a civil war between two skin-colored societies, a conflict that led to the death of thousands. The White Martians, under the leadership of Ma'alefa'ak, developed a powerful biological weapon: a psychic virus intended to exterminate both Martian groups. This psychic virus, which infected the minds of Green Martians, paradoxically brought them closer together. Although the virus was created by the White Martians, all Martians eventually succumbed to the same diseases.

Early Life

 In response to the devastation, J'onn J'onzz led a rebellion against the Manhunters' guerrilla movement. He took a group of survivors on a long journey to an isolated planet where the psychic virus couldn't reach them. On this new planet, they bonded together without regard for class, creed, or color and reformed their society. They named their new home New Mars, with the sole purpose of preserving Martian memory.

Thousands of years later, J'onn J'onzz, the founder of New Mars, mysteriously returned to his home planet. He discovered he was time-displaced and had been trapped on Earth for thousands of years. J'onn found a way to reconnect with his people by reaching the distant space sector where New Mars is located. He promises to maintain contact with them and sends them hundreds of cassette tapes with video recordings of Earth's television programs to help them learn about the planet and his mission.

As Miss Martian

  M'Gann, the last of her kind and a new exchange student from New Mars, arrived on Earth. She quickly fell in love with Earth's culture after spending years binge-watching all the content J'onn shared, with a particular fondness for the teen sitcom "Hello Meggan". She became J'onn's pupil and apprentice, joining him on his heroic journey as the Martian Manhunter.
