After earning his degree in Physics, Ryan Choi secured his first professional opportunity as a laboratory assistant to Dr. Jia Hung, a scientist deeply involved in the study of the White Dwarf Star Fragment. This object, originally discovered and cataloged by Ray Palmer and later absorbed into the research efforts of S.T.A.R. Labs, became the center of their work in Beijing.
Dr. Hung’s research focused on determining the fragment’s age and understanding the temporal distortions it emitted. However, precise measurement of these anomalies proved elusive. As months passed without significant breakthroughs, she authorized increasingly dangerous field tests, including electrical activation of the fragment.
