This breed was developed in the 19th centaury in England. They are often referred to as the "dogs of the rabbit world". They were accepted by ARBA in 1979. Minimum weight at senior age is 10.5 lbs for does and 10 lbs for bucks. They live 5-7 years. They are known for their incredible long ears that can grow as long as 32 inches. 21 inches is the minimum length for ARBA. Their ears stop growing around 4 months of age
