Early Learner Custer is an initiative formed and operated by representatives from the City of Custer, the Custer School District, the Custer Ministerial Alliance and Custer Area Economic Development.
Early Learner Custer believes that all children deserve access to high-quality early learning experiences and environments to create a solid foundation for lifelong success.
Our mission is to improve families’ access to quality early learning experiences and environments, for families and their children ranging from 0-8 years old, in Custer County.
Some of the ways in which we are striving to fulfill our mission are:
by increasing access to quality early learning experiences within our community.
by promoting early learning and development prenatally through the early years of elementary school.
by strengthening the local opportunities, supports, and systems that benefit children and their families.
by conducting a local community assessment using the Early Learner SD Community Assessment tool based on the National League of Cities Early Learning Community Action Guide.
by developing an initial Action Plan identifying next steps using the Early Learner SD Community Assessment tool based on the National League of Cities Early Learning Community Action Guide.
