Battle standard of Northampton's regiment
Royal Standard of King Charles Stuart the First. King of England, Scotland, and Ireland.
We are a Royalist Regiment of Foote, specializing in pike, shotte, and cannon. Our group is dedicated to the history of the English Civil Wars (1642–1651), the life of the English soldier across Europe and beyond, and the broader historical landscape of the long seventeenth century.
We are proud members of the Sealed Knot Reenactment Society — the second-oldest and largest historical reenactment organisation in England and Europe, with between 2,000 and 3,000 registered members. Events of varying sizes take place across the country throughout the year, celebrating and preserving the rich heritage of the seventeenth century.
The Earl of Northampton’s Regiment regularly travels abroad to participate in international reenactment events, portraying English mercenaries of the period. Our journeys have taken us to remarkable locations such as Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, and even as far as Poland — bringing the history of the English Civil Wars to life across Europe.
