If you want immersive, all-day comfort with active noise cancellation for focused study sessions, choose EarFun Air 2; if you need a versatile Bluetooth transmitter to unlock high-resolution audio and low-latency gaming on non-Bluetooth devices like your PS5 or laptop, choose eppfun Le Audio USB.
These two products solve completely different problems for the same goal: getting better sound into your ears while studying. One is a pair of earbuds designed to seal out the world, while the other is a bridge that turns wired or legacy devices into wireless audio hubs. Understanding this fundamental difference is the only way to make the right choice for your specific setup.
• EarFun Air 2: Its biggest strength is the combination of Hi-Res LDAC audio and deep Active Noise Cancellation up to 43dB, making it ideal for blocking out library chatter or dorm noise. The trade-off is that it is a standalone in-ear device requiring its own battery and charging case, with no ability to connect to external hardware beyond standard Bluetooth sources. This pick is for students who need a dedicated, portable listening experience that isolates them from distractions.
• eppfun Le Audio USB: Its greatest advantage is the cutting-edge Bluetooth 5.4 chip that enables Auracast broadcasting and ultra-low latency aptX LL support, allowing you to stream lossless audio from consoles or PCs that lack native Bluetooth. The trade-off is that it is not a headphone itself but an accessory; you must already own compatible wireless headphones to use it. This pick is for gamers and audiophiles who want to upgrade their existing gear to the latest standards without buying a new headset.
The EarFun Air 2 is built for the student who needs to disappear into their work. When you are trying to write a thesis or review complex notes, the last thing you need is the hum of an air conditioner or the muffled conversation of a roommate next door. This model tackles that directly with Hybrid ANC technology that claims to eliminate environmental noises up to 43dB. That level of isolation is crucial when you are using open ear earbuds for study as a baseline concept, but here you get the benefit of sealed buds that actually block sound rather than just letting ambient noise pass through.
Comfort is another pillar of this design. At just 0.16oz per bud, these are incredibly light, which matters immensely during long study marathons. You will be wearing them for hours, perhaps while sitting in a lecture hall or a coffee shop, and the ergonomic shape molded for a wide range of ear shapes ensures they stay put without causing pain. The package includes four different ear tips, giving you the flexibility to find a perfect seal that enhances both the bass response and the effectiveness of the noise cancellation. If you cannot get a tight seal, the ANC simply won't work well, so having options is a significant feature for anyone with unique ear anatomy.
Audio fidelity is where the Air 2 truly shines for media consumption and critical listening. The inclusion of 10mm wool composite dynamic drivers paired with the LDAC codec means you are getting three times more data transmission than standard TWS earbuds. This preserves sonic detail, allowing you to hear the nuances in music or the clarity in recorded lectures. Furthermore, the six-microphone array with Qualcomm cVc 8.0 ENC ensures that crystal clear calls in ear earbuds for study scenarios remain possible even if you need to take a quick call while working. Whether you are in a noisy café or a windy outdoor area, the system is designed to isolate your voice and suppress background wind noise.

However, this product is not for everyone. If you have sensitive ears that react poorly to in-ear pressure, the physical seal required for the ANC might feel intrusive over time. Additionally, because these rely on Bluetooth 5.3, they are dependent on your source device having good Bluetooth capabilities. They are not a solution for connecting to older equipment that lacks wireless output. You also need to remember that using LDAC can sometimes impact connection stability depending on your environment, so you may need to toggle settings for maximum reliability. If you are looking for something that sits outside the ear canal for situational awareness, this sealed design is not the path forward.
The eppfun Le Audio USB serves a very specific, technical purpose that appeals to users who already own quality headphones but find their current devices lacking in connectivity features. This is a transmitter, not a receiver. Its primary job is to plug into a USB-C port on a laptop, gaming console like the PS5, or mobile device and broadcast high-fidelity audio wirelessly. The standout feature here is the leap to Bluetooth 5.4, which offers a more stable connection, faster transmission speeds, and longer range compared to previous generations. For a student gaming late at night or watching movies on a tablet, this stability is paramount to avoid audio dropouts that break immersion.
One of the most exciting capabilities of this device is the support for Auracast broadcast mode. This breaks the traditional limit on how many receivers can connect to a single transmitter. In a shared living space or a dorm room, this allows multiple people to listen to the same audio feed simultaneously without interfering with each other. Imagine sharing a movie or a game soundtrack with friends in the same room, or connecting to public broadcasting systems in theaters or exhibitions. While the typical student might not use Auracast daily, the potential for shared experiences and future-proofing makes this a compelling feature for tech enthusiasts who want to stay ahead of the curve.
Performance-wise, the inclusion of the Qualcomm 5181 chipset is a major selling point. It supports a suite of advanced codecs including LDAC, aptX Lossless, and aptX Adaptive Low Latency. This means you can enjoy high-definition 24-bit dynamic audio with minimal delay, which is essential for competitive gaming or syncing video perfectly with audio. The LED lights provide immediate visual feedback on which protocol is active, so you know exactly what you are getting. The fact that it works across Windows, Linux, Apple, Android, Switch, and PS5 without needing drivers simplifies the setup process significantly. It effectively modernizes older devices, turning a wired-only console into a wireless audio hub.
The trade-offs are inherent to the form factor. Since this is a dongle-style transmitter, it does not produce any sound on its own. You absolutely must have a pair of compatible wireless headphones or earbuds to utilize this product. If you do not already own a set of headphones that support the specific codecs you want (like LDAC or aptX LL), buying this transmitter alone will not give you high-quality audio. It is an accessory that upgrades your ecosystem, not a complete solution. Additionally, the lack of a built-in battery mentioned in the specs suggests it draws power directly from the host device's port, meaning you are consuming battery life from your laptop or console while using it.

While the eppfun Le Audio USB is an impressive piece of engineering for gamers and tech geeks, the EarFun Air 2 is a complete, standalone solution that solves the immediate problem of focus and clarity. For anyone looking for open ear earbuds for study (or rather, closed-back alternatives that offer superior isolation), the Air 2 delivers the necessary silence and sound quality to get work done efficiently.
Users concerned about intense exercise should verify this specific protection level before relying on them for gym sessions.
Yes, the eppfun Le Audio USB supports Apple devices, along with Windows, Linux, Android, and various gaming consoles. However, keep in mind that the iPhone's Bluetooth implementation may limit the availability of certain advanced codecs like LDAC or aptX LL depending on the iOS version and app support.
Users expecting long durations should expect some variance based on usage intensity.
Yes, the transmitter requires headphones that support the specific audio protocols you wish to use, such as LDAC, aptX, or aptX Low Latency. If your current headphones only support basic SBC, you will still get audio, but you will not unlock the high-fidelity or low-latency benefits advertised.
