Webinars will include review of resources, case studies, and small group work. Participants will receive resources and guides as takeaways that can be used in their schools. Title: Overview of Child Protection in International Schools
In this webinar, we will discuss the Overview of Child Protection Responsibilities for a School, which outlines all the areas of focus needed for a school to consider when addressing Child Protection. This will include everything from physical security to policies to personnel and reporting structures. Participants will learn about each of the 12 elements and how they are interconnected. Participants will receive handouts to guide them in using this information at their school.

In this webinar, participants will learn about the elements and structure of a robust Child Protection policy. They will learn best practices for creating a CP Policy that fits within the school culture, meets standards and requirements, and engages members of the school community. Participants will receive a guide for creating their own school Child Protection policy and they will engage in group work discuss case studies.

In this webinar, participants will learn about the Child Protection training strategies and requirements to meet the needs of all school community members. Title: The Role of the Designated Safeguarding Leader
Participants will learn about the roles and responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Leader. The DSL, which can be referred to by many other names, is the operational lead for Child Protection in a school. This role requires specific training, resources, and responsibilities to be successful. Participants will delve into the job description for a DSL, discuss best practices, and talk about key consideration for the role. Participants will receive handouts and participate in case studies.

Matt Harris, Ed.D.’s experience and expertise lie at the nexus of technology, learning, and the global education landscape. Currently, Dr. Harris is the Co-Founder and CEO of ChildSafeguarding.com, an eLearning company that offers child abuse prevention education to support staff and parent volunteers in all schools around the world. The course meets the needs of all learners regardless of literacy level, geography, or language. Previously, Dr. Harris worked as an educational leader and teacher in schools and universities in North America and Asia. He served as Chair of the Board of Directors for the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
Chris Gould is an Independent Child Protection Consultant based in Australia. Chris operates 112 Safeguarding, which provides safeguarding input, training and case-based support to International Schools, Embassies and other expatriate communities in Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region. He was the Founder and Honorary Vice-President of Child-Safe International, a UK registered charity that was concerned with child protection and safety for young people primarily in homestay settings. Prior to his consulting work, Chris completed 30 years of service with the British Police finishing as a Detective Chief Superintendent.
