Who can apply?

We welcome applications from anyone who is interested in Effective Altruism, including both professionals and students.

While the event is aimed at people who live nearby-ish (around the North of England) and who already have some prior involvement with EA, neither is a strict requirement.

Please err on the side of applying!

What will be happening?

The schedule will be finalised closer to the date to reflect the interests and backgrounds of the attendees. Please help us create a great event by filling out the optional questions on the application form!

If you would like to give a talk you can also indicate this on your application.

Will there be food?

There will be a vegan lunch as well as snacks and drinks throughout the day.

Is there an application deadline?

The deadline for applications is Monday, 31 March.

However, applications will be processed on a rolling basis and the venue has limited capacity, so there is a chance that we will run out of spots before the deadline. Applying early also means that you will be able to shape the event with your answers on the application form.

I live further away and might struggle to travel there for just one day. Can I stay somewhere?

While there is no official accommodation, a few people have offered to host. If your application is accepted, you will be able to connect with other attendees to arrange something.

Is there any financial support?

Travel stipends may be available if you could otherwise not attend. You can indicate this on your application.
