ABOUT THE BOOK DRIVE

Our mission at the Eternal Advocate Library and Family Center is to enrich lives by fostering Christ-exalting intellectual, personal, and professional growth, as well as growth in the knowledge and love of Christ Jesus Himself. We believe that as individuals grow in each of these areas, the community as a whole is bettered, as the light of Christ shines brighter and farther. We promote academic and biblical literacy, life-long learning, personal and career development, and a love for that which is true, good, and beautiful by providing access to good books, a welcoming reading space, and hands-on educational programs for children and adults. Help us shine light, one book at a time! 

BOOK GUIDELINES

We are looking for books from across a range of literary genres for infants, children, youth, and adults, especially (but not limited to) Christian literature and classic literature. Secular books with biblical themes and no specific anti-Christian views are also welcome:

• Christian fiction and non-fiction***

• Classic literature across a range of genres***

• Informational (across all subjects)

• Folktale

• Autobiographical

• Biographical

• Drama

• Poetry

• Realistic fiction

• Historical fiction

• Fantasy

• Science fiction

• Mystery

• Adventure

• Etc.

When choosing books, especially for children and youth, we ask that you donate books that have character building themes such as hard work, integrity, kindness, perseverance, humility, honor, and bravery. The books do not need to all be explicitly Christian, but all books should promote goodness and truth, even by way of showing the harms of unwise/evil actions. We also ask you to donate books that do not have any unclean language and do not glorify disrespectful or inappropriate/sinful behavior. Lastly, we ask that you donate books with excellent literary value and writing. 

We are also interested in offering sound theological books for both adults and children in the following categories:

***Note: We are also accepting donations of math manipulative kits, math fact flashcards, English language arts readers, and phonics charts/cards to help support the creation of Christ-exalting academic tutoring programs at EALFC.
